We stayed for two nights on a road trip heading to Florida. We loved the historic quality of the hotel. The pool area is wonderful and very tranquil. Breakfast was minimal, but pretty standard in hotels (waffles, muffins, bagels, coffee, & seasonal fruit). Service was wonderful, they booked our swamp tour for us and walked us to our room. The...

On my last trip to NOLA I stayed at This hotel since it is conveniently located. I wanted to be within walking distance to the French Quarter and Frenchmen street and this hotel was a perfect pick. It is right next the Armstrong Park which was a beautiful park to check out. Staff was courteous and helpful. I didn't spend...

Our room was very close to the pool, interesting floor coverings of bricks throughout the room. Bathroom needs an update, rusting tub and rocking toilet. Beds were comfy and clean which is all you can ask for. Seemed like people were really enjoying the pool. Staff were perfunctory and short. Not very warm or welcoming. Not a big deal though!

If you want a hotel that you know you're in New Orleans than this is a great pick. The hotel overall and especially the room has NOLA character. The location is on the edge of the French Quarter and is within walking distance of everything. It's less than a mile to most of the hot spots. The city is building...

On the edge of the French Quarter; quiet, but one is fast in the middle of life. Small, but very cozy room with wooden flooring and a awesome bed. Seating on the balcony in front of the room overlooking the pool. Very nice old house with history. Very nice and friendly staff. Parking in the yard for an average of...

We just returned from a 6 day stay at the New Orleans Courtyard. When visiting New Orleans you can stay in a big expensive fancy hotel or you can stay in this wonderfully priced hotel with true New Orleans Character. The service was great, staff is very friendly and helpful, room was clean, great pool, good continental breakfast and within...

Wow! This hotel is truly amazing. The service here is great. The people working here seems to be personally invested in the hotel. The rooms are large, rustique and unique. The big fireplace gave our room a personality. The only drawback is that you here everything from the courtyard and the doors are hard to close. The pool area is...

We got a big room in the back of the courtyard, right across the way from a little fountain guarded by a grimacing cherub sculpture. It had bare wood floors, minimal furniture and a nice bathroom, with traditional louvered window shutters in lieu of shades. Rocked with a.c., important in notoriously steamy N.O. My only complaint: room could've used at...

Rooms are very nice and quaint. However there is no refrigerator, coffee pots. A lot of places ask you for cash only. So be prepared. Bring cash or use the ATMs. Pool is not heated. The staff are very nice and helpful. And the family is enjoying the stay here.

Staying in Treme

Neighbourhood Profile
Treme
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
