We chose the Bienville House primarily because of its location relative to the activities we had planned for this trip. Worked out perfectly. Be aware you are about a block from a working rail line, so there are occasional train whistles at night. The property is not intended to be a 5-star hotel, but is well maintained and has some...

What a great place to stay. Easy walking distance to the river and French Quarter. The staff is second to none!! Extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in a King Superior room with balcony overlooking the pool. I will definitely stay here again when in New Orleans.

Attention to details in the rooms creates a comfy cozy yet elegant appeal. All the staff are tremendous and know you by name. The location is across from the fire station, down the street from Southern Pralines (the best pralines in the world) and easy walking to Bourbon Street and all the action. Will stay there again and again.

Our room was very comfortable. We loved our stay at the hotel because it was In a great location, very quiet, fresh and clean and the décor was true to New Orleans. We would chose to stay again next time we visit new Orleans but we would request a window.

I recently stayed at Bienville House for a conference, and added an extra day to explore the French Quarter. I opted to pay a little more for a better room, and booked a King Salon room - 3rd floor - room 360. An average of about $400/night. The room was very nice, spacious, with a lovely 4-poster bed ... it...

Was here for a huge medical conference. It's on the edge of the French Quarter (not quite as noisy) and a few blocks from Canal St. The four poster bed was high (it's rare I can dangle my feet) and comfy! Well lit closet. Regular sized bathroom, writing desk, and chifferobe for drawers, TV and ice bucket. Nice dark blinds....

I loved this hotel. Bienville House is charming, historical, intimate with helpful staff, large rooms, breakfast included with very nice pool and patio. The location couldn't be better--one block from the river, on the edge of the French Quarter, two blocks from Canal street, four blocks from the warehouse district, two blocks from shopping mall, two blocks from French Market.

The hotel has a great location. The staff is great. The room was very nice. The bed was good the shower was good. The room was quiet. The hotel has a "fast start" breakfast. It was excellent. They have juice, toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt and fruit. I would stay here again.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
