Great location as you are in the French Quarter and can walk anywhere but much quieter than Bourbon Street. Also, walking distance to Frenchman Street. Lots of character in the building but seems to have been update fairly recently. The staff (especially Eric) is very friendly and informative. Paid to upgrade my room to a balcony but was unseasonable cold...

I was in New Orleans for NYE and spent my last night at Hotel Royal. It's a NYC style boutique hotel in the heart of the French Quarter. The hotel is on Royal St and blocks away from EVERYTHING...Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, Cafe Du Mode, etc. It's also a short distance from the live music hub, Frenchman St. It's a...

Hotel Royal in French Quarter is truly wonderful. it is a classic creole townhouse with broad wooden floors, high ceilings, shuttered windows and an amazing bath with jets!! The staff were welcoming and so helpful, and my stay included a nice buffet breakfast (muffins, fruit, pastries and really good coffee) I stayed on the third floor in the Main House...

The hotel had so much character! It is in the middle of the French quarter.. Location was unbeatable. However, the room had low ceilings and, my husband bumped his head a couple of times; and, the stairs to the room make u want to get back in the gym. The hotel staff was amazing. Eric was awesome! He gave us...

Checked out of the Hotel Royal today after a 2 night stay. It's in a great location, walking distance from everything in the French Quarter (French Market, Cafe du Monde, Jackson Square, etc). The hotel is charming with a courtyard complete with a fountain, wood floors, and balconies for the suites. Be aware that there is NO ELEVATOR, so if...

Great room, good atmosphere and the best staff ever. Very close to the partystreet, but still far enough to not be disturbed. Only thing to point a finger on was a hotspot that could'nt hold for more than a minute a time, but I recon they fixed it when we left, and mentionned it.

Front desk staff was so friendly, informative, professional. Parking was not fun (in the middle of the French Quarter) and hotel has limited spots in their parking "lot", it is first come first serve. Hotel was overall clean. Room was a great size and comfy! NO ELEVATORS, getting to our room on the 2nd level was an experience on its...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
