We stayed for our anniversary. The B&B is very nice and located on a quiet end of Bourbon st. Only one morning I was woke up by people yelling on the street. It's about 7 blocks to the action. The room was comfortable, and very clean. Breakfast was good every morning and John will go the extra mile if you...

A short walk into the quarter, and about 2 blocks from Frenchman street, perfect location. John is a wonderful host, he really made us feel at home and his breakfasts were great! La Maison is our new home base whenever we are in New Orleans!

I chose this B&B because of the great reviews and the location, and the fact that it was more affordable than some of the smaller hotels near by. It did not disappoint. In fact it far exceeded expectation and was so much better than some of the near by hotels. John (one of the owners) was the ultimate host! I...

This B&B is right on the quiet end of Bourbon Street. We were able to walk everywhere in the French Quarter. The accommodations were lovely. John, the Proprietor cooked us a wonderful breakfast and was very informative. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed for 11 nights back in Nov./14. It felt like we had the place to ourselves. We rented the owner's suite on the main floor. So we had use of the suite, the front porch, the kitchen and the back patio. There were other guests on the second floor, but the only time we saw or heard them was...

This was my first time staying in a b&b and New Orleans and I was not sure what to expect. There were 3 other couples staying at the house and besides the ocassional passing in the hall or breakfast it was so private and intimate. The owner does not live in the house so a lot of the time you...

My husband and I just got back from staying at the La Maison Marigny, and we had a great time! It was on Bourbon street so everything was within walking distance. We didn't have to get a cab once (except to go to and from the airport). We were able to explore many different areas, including the local jazz/bar area...

Would book again! More 'character' than 'luxurious' but covers the must-haves very well. PROS - Very friendly host, location is awesome, good price, great towels/robes/linens, quiet, secure, good breakfast. CONS - shower head needs replacing or cleaning, no soda selection, antique bedroom armoire so rickety it's not really useable, no lotion or hair conditioner.

Thanks so much for the review! We're glad you had a nice visit and would return again. We are due to replace the armoire in your guest room soon. Many guests love it but a newer model may be a nice change. Also, we have no plans to offer sodas as part of our snacks package but we do offer...

We are just wrapping up a week-long stay at La Maison Marigny on Bourbon and can't say enough about the entire experience. John is the consummate innkeeper: available whenever you need anything (and especially when he cooks his gourmet breakfasts) but leaves you to enjoy the beautiful and well-maintained public spaces. With just four rooms, you are sure to get...

It's always wonderful to get great feedback, of course, and it's a little sweeter when it comes from fellow innkeepers who themselves own a fantastic property! Thanks for spending your week with us while in New Orleans and we look forward to seeing you both again soon!

This B&B is a peaceful place, but very near to everything in the heart of Nola. It was easy to walk into the Quarter and to Frenchmen Street. I stayed in the front balcony room. It was beautifully furnished and clean. Joi & TJ were very nice and accommodating. I was a solo woman traveler and felt very safe at...

It's always nice to read about the great experiences our guests have when staying at La Maison Marigny, but there's even an added bonus here in that the owners were out of town and Joi and Thyago managed things in our absence. As usual, they seem to have done a great job and we thank the reviewer for their comments!

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.

“The upstairs room in the back is nice and quiet. But the street is one block outside the Quarter, so the whole house is quite peaceful”

“We checked out all the rooms and they are all super cute and charming. The one over the back courtyard is probably quieter because it faces away from the street. Same with the room in the middle of the upstairs. But we didn't think it was noisy in the suite and that has a room facing the street.”
