We stayed at this hotel in November and the weather was perfect for exploring. Not too hot or cold. Not too many tourists (so keep that in mind when booking). The location of the hotel was perfect! It was right in the middle of the French Quarter, steps away from everything - Cafe du Monde, Bourbon Street, Galleries, Jackson Square....

The room was smallish but PERFECT. Everything I wanted to experience for my first trip to New Orleans! The hotel was the perfect distance from Bourbon & Jackson Square. Out of the crowded area but close enough to walk without getting tired HA Will stay again!

Adored the room, the cleanliness, and the proximity to everything. The hotel is conveniently located on one of the safest street blocks in the Quarter, close to the Cathedral. Walked to beignets every morning and was easy to drop back to the room when we needed to. The "pool" is more of a very large fountain in the back -...

This hotel staff will wake you up every morning at 7:00 even with do not disturb signs. No sound proofing. The hotel chooses the months it turns on the heat and even when it was in the 50's outside and mid 60's inside no heat was available. Front desk staff is great, location is great.

Thank you for your feedback, as much as it pains us to read it, it is necessary to know which areas are in continued need of growth and improvement. So let me apologize on behalf of myself and all of my staff that your stay did not meet expectations; although the building looks new and modern, the climate control is...

We picked Hotel St. Helene for it's location, and loved it! We check in late on Friday night and the person at the front desk was very welcoming. The hotel is perfect in relation to Bourbon St. and Jackson Square. The hotel has been nicely restored, the rooms are contemporary in style and clean. The only MINOR negatives are the...

The trash trucks come by at 4AM!!! I don't mean they drive by! They take 30 minutes to empty several big metal dumpsters.... did I mention at 4AM?!?! I spent $250 for the night for a balcony room. When we checked out Sunday morning, tired and trying to get ready for an 8 hour drive home, we mentioned the commotion...

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that your stay failed to meet your expectations, but anything which happens outside of our property is out of our control. I am unsure why you feel you overpaid when $250 for a balcony in the French Quarter two blocks from Jackson Square on a Saturday night is incredibly inexpensive....

This is my first negative review ever. And my first time to ever leave a hotel and stick out my reservation. I was booked at St. Helene from this past Thursday 12/1/16 until yesterday 12/4/16. I visit New Orleans 2-3 times a year and have stayed at many varying hotels. I thought we would give the St. Helene a chance...

Within walking distance of everything in the Quarter. This historic building is quaint and well maintained. While the room was not really large, it was comfortable and large enough for a few nights stay. Very restful. We will stay here again.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
