I had stayed here before and I knew what to expect. Great location, minimal amenities and not the greatest water pressure. On this trip, ownership transferred the weekend I arrived and there was very little organization. My flight was cancelled several times and I arrived...More
How sad to see this wonderful place fall into the wrong hands, Just don't go! Word is it is now dirty and double the prices of the past. Sad sad! In the past it afforded an authentic step back into the past with charm to...More
They want to more than triple my nightly rate! I booked this place over 2 months ago at $160 a night. Today I received an email saying it's going up to $600 a night so I've cancelled. I'm not staying in some run down house...More
I use to visit the Biscuit Palace yearly but not anymore. I had reservations- new owners bought it. I was told that the new owners bought this hotel to make money so they were not going to honor my reservations - they raised the per...More
I've stayed at the Biscuit Palace in the past, but never again. Non-stop construction/remodeling 6.5 days per week, can't use the courtyard as it's full of construction junk. Apparently they called other guests with a warning, but didn't bother to call us. When we got...More

A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the
Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

It's is not spotless, I found a few things but I really don't think there is a standard for cleaning there. I thought the bath towels smelled bad on one occasion....they leave clean towels by the door every day. It's just a "housing place" with a couple people running it. It is definitely unique not like the run of the mill hotel. It's very old and worn with lots of character ,good location, and friendly owner. I stayed in the conti mini suite and the view was overlooking courtyard with the surrounding back of buildings....nothing great.
I enjoyed the experience but I probably wouldn't go again. Although I have relatives that have gone several times, it's just personal preference of creature comforts I guess.
