This place is just about six blocks away from Jackson Square but it is nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Our room was beautiful and comfortable and we didn't hear any traffic from the street. Around back the courtyard opens onto a sparkling pools with a heavily landscaped back yard. This was so perfect we didn't want to leave. And the...

My husband chose this B&B and we stayed here with my MIL for a short trip. I have nothing bad to say about it. It's a couple of blocks from Frenchman's Street and maybe half a mile from the French Quarter. It's in a quiet residential location and we didn't experience any problems. Ed, the owner, is nice. The backyard...

Lions Inn is a rare gem. It offers a heavenly perch conveniently located to all things musical, gastronomic, commercial. It is quiet and offers a magnificent garden, pool, hot tub, a wonderful retreat from the heat and bustle of the city yet so centrally located to the french quarter, etc. Ed, the owner, sets a most personally warm and hospitable...

Fantastic place. Great location and no noise at all. The bedroom was very comfortable and it was all clean and neat. The breakfast was very good and complete, and the owner is a very nice, helpful gentleman. It has a beautiful patio with a pool and a hot tub (we didn't use it because of the bad weather). We will...

Visited in Feb for the tail end of the Mardi Gras with a group of friends. As we had 5 of the rooms booked it really was a bit of a Brit invasion but the rest of the guests didn't hold that against us! All of our rooms were great. Some bigger than others but all neat and tidy with...

I booked this place based on the reviews and it didn't live up to the hype for me. To start with I should say that it is in an excellent location. It's a short walk to the French Quarter but it's in a quiet neighbourhood so you can actually sleep. The manager (not entirely sure he was the manager but...

This quaint B&B is great for people of all ages. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast is served from 8:30-10:30am. If you want somewhere with decent proximity to the french quarter and at a reasonable price this is the place to stay.

Have been staying at this B&B for at least a decade now, generally when visiting N.O. for leisure travel (i.e. on my dime). Have interacted with different managers (and their pets) over the years and stayed in at least 3 of their rooms. My wife and I were here together just a few weeks back. I enjoy the differences, quirks...

Stayed at the Lions Inn 29th of November. The backyard and the pool is a tropical heaven. Rooms are clean and well put together. Walking distance to the fun places in the French Quarter. Continental breakfast is amazing.....

We had three great nights at this wonderful B&B. The owner is great and the rooms were perfect and so also the pool area. The location was also great, we walked to Frenchmen street and there was a café around the corner. The best of times and we would absolutely stay here again! Thanks to Ed from the Swedish families

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
