We did not even get the chance to stay at this hotel. We booked the room through travelocity & it was not indicated as being prepaid at the time of booking. They cancelled our reservation 3 days later without calling or anything. It was booked...More
Recently stayed here for jazzfest weekend, it was perfect. The location is between Frenchman and bourbon, easy walking to everything. The management was super! Nice pool area and upstairs has nice balcony.
Enjoyed our night in this cute room. Reading through the poor reviews, I can tell you look at the dates. They have made improvements and our experience was great. The staff were nice, helpful and responsive to our needs. The location is perfect for the...More
My grandparents own a timeshare here, so we stayed for next to free. A solid, historic home - the room was very nice (we stayed on the top floor, and it was a bi-level room with a spiral staircase that gets you to the upper...More
613 Esplanade...Lafitte’s House is a little hidden gem. It’s right around the corner from Frenchmen Street and one block away from the back end of Royal Street, which walks you right into the French Quarter. It’s not the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but it’s...More
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining
destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.

We really didn't take pictures of the inside. It was very nice though. The only thing that bothered me was there weren't black out curtains in the main floor bedroom and the window was very bright due to the lights in the courtyard. We definitely felt safe and had plenty of room. There was 5 of us. Two decided to sleep on top of the two over-sized sofas in the living room even though both couches had pull out beds, two stayed in the upstairs bedroom, there was a pull out couch and a bed and bath, and then there was a bedroom on the main floor with a queen bed and a full bath. The two in the living area had to share the bath but it was much better than what we could have gotten in a hotel. I highly recommend the place especially if you have a group. The balcony was pretty nice to have too. You climbed out some large windows and could see everything going on in the street below. There are a lot of people who are homeless in the area (all of the French quarter, not just this spot) but they left us alone and we were not concerned. You are also very close to the Ruby Slipper which has a great breakfast.
