What a great little place! We were so surprised at what a great place this is, right on Decatur Street, so it's close to the French Quarter and Harrahs. The room was like a one bedroom condo, with a sitting room and little kitchen. If you opened the blinds it looked right out onto the pool and little courtyard. It...

This is an old building which from the looks of things was converted to a condo in the 80's. We were in room 103 for 4 days this week. I expect other reviewers are right in saying that the rooms differ a lot. We had a spacious living/dining area, kitchen equipped with the basics, everything very clean. Staff was helpful....

We must take into account this building dates back to 1842... Originally part of a sugar plantation, hotel, garrison, bordello, dormant and in 1983 renovated to what it is today.. I watch Hotel Impossible hosted by Anthony Melchiorri and have learned what is or not tolerable in a hotel... We stayed in a two bedroom one bath room suite on...

Just got back from a one week stay. I was curious what I would find after reading the reviews, but it was fine. Every room is a different configuration of a very old, squeezed in building in N.O. Kinda more fun that your average hotel. Our one bedroom apt, was large, and had the funniest bathroom, Jacuzzi tub looked like...

The Hotel is well situated, literally one minute from the French Quarter, and is a very friendly establishment. The apartment was a good size, with a full kitchen. It was clean, towels were changed daily and the bed linen once in the week. The front desk staff were very helpful and even printed urgent documents we needed to sign from...

Located just on the edge of the French quarter, the hotel is within walking distance of Canal street's vast transport options as well as a number of the city's major attractions. The suites are very spacious with very efficient air conditioning, a sizeable kitchen area, comfy beds and a really nice washroom with spa bath & powerful shower. Staff are...

We visited here for a long weekend. I wanted to experience NOLA. The hotel is in a good location but that's about it. It is walking distance to the French Quarter, Canal Street and Bourbon Street. It is very old and rundown. The pool is a joke!!! It's no larger than a 5 by 10 foot wading pool. The advertised...

Stayed here with some friends. It's certainly not a luxury hotel but we loved it. We would definitely stay here again. Charming and unique. We loved the exposed brick walls. The elevator was a bit slow but it was always working. We also enjoyed hanging out on the roof top deck area. Pool was a little small too, but we...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
