We booked a private room with shared bathroom. Room was clean and enough space for us and our packs! Great kitchen/ cooking/ food storage facilities and cheap food to purchase. The was a great communal area both inside and out which was always busy with other travellers. A bit out of the way but easy to walk or the tram...

I stayed here for 4 nights in August and it was amazing. Great atmosphere all day and night. If you're looking for a few nights out in New Orleans this is definitely the place to go. Rooms were clean and comfortable too. Loved it!

I stayed at the India house hostel for five nights. I chose a private room with bunk beds and bathroom. The room was clean and had air conditioning. The place has a very laid back feel and was amazing. There is a huge back communal area for people to sit around and a pool with music usually playing, fridges for...

Stayed here for 5 nights. 3 nights in the 16 bed dorm ($20 each/night) and 2 nights in a private room with just our group of three ($22 each/night). Would definitely recommend the private for groups of 2-4. Good location, easy access to French quarter by street car. Good pool! Both of our bookings were stuffed up, we had booked...

Hostels in the USA generally aren't that good. Usually pretty expensive, full of strange characters or children and with little atmosphere but the India Hostel was the complete opposite. It has a pool for starters - a cool vibe, lots of places to chill and drink and friendly staff. It's location isn't the greatest (about 15 minutes to Bourbon Street...

There was an excellent atmosphere when I stayed there. Everyone gathers on the patio area at night to socialise and...

This is the most social hostel I have ever stayed in. There is a swimming pool (which I didn't swim in because it was warm and eeeww backpacker dirty germs breeding) and everyone hangs out and meets new friends outside in the courtyard. I stayed in a female dorm in the main house (there are a few houses that belong...
