My boyfriend and I wanted a little get away to New Orleans since we hadn't been and we were told what a great city it is (we weren't disappointed)! We chose to stay at the Auld Sweet Olive based on price, location, and other reviews....and we definitely plan on staying here again when we come back. Nancy, the owner, is...

My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights in adjoining/connecting rooms, each with its own private bathroom. The property is magnificent - a stately old house, beautifully renovated and decorated, including wall paintings by a theatre artist - the front parlour is just amazing. Our rooms were really comfortable and very clean, breakfast was very good, and our hosts...

Great location just outside the French Quarter. Cozy rooms and lovely breakfast. The area seemed very safe and there was a great higher end food court across the street with oyster happy our. Definitely recommend staying here.

My husband and I had the most awesome trip to JazzFest. Nancy and all the folks at Auld Sweet Olive, including the JazzFest veterans who have stayed at this B&B for umpteen years, were welcoming and delightful to spend time with. Everyone at Sweet Auld went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and knew our way...

Absolutely beautiful home, way bigger than it looks from the outside. Easy, flat, safe walk to anywhere in the French Quarter and it's just a few blocks from Frenchmen Street where all the jazz clubs are. (In contrast, it was completely quiet at night in my room.) You won't need a car at all. Easy to get to the fairgrounds...

Lovely b&b in a quiet area on the edge of the French district and only a short quite enjoyable walk to French street and bars and restaurants. Our room was comfortable. There was a nice patio area outside to meet up with others at the end of the day with a glass of beer or wine. Breakfasts were a help...

Such a wonderful B and B, just on the edge of the French Quarter and a short walk to the trolley on the waterfront. A quiet location with a lovely garden patio to enjoy a drink. Nancy our host has thought of everything to make your stay memorable. Beer and wine in the fridge to buy, wated in your room....

This B&B is located in the Faubourg Marigny district, just east of the French Quarter. The area is filled with historic homes and restaurants. We stayed for four nights in the Sweet Olive room. Our room had a king bed, small bath with tub and shower and doors that opened out to the patio. If I’m being honest, I have...

My husband and I stayed at Auld Sweet Olive this past weekend and had the most wonderful time. Nancy is a great hostess, so warm and hospitable. She gave great suggestions on places to go and the best ways to get there. We stayed in the Oak Room, which is comfortable, cozy and beautifully designed, as is the rest of...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
