This place needs refurbishing. The furniture was old and dingy , I was afraid to sleep or sit. The room moldy and dusty. Would never consider eating there. The room was close to the front desk and there was a lot of noise. Definitely a bad experience

Thanks for your response in reference to your recent stay. I apologize that you experienced a dirty room. We try our best to keep every room clean and orderly and am deeply sorry we did not meet up to those standards. I will go over this with our housekeeping staff. Please do not let this deter you from visiting with...

We absolutely love visiting the Quarter House Resort in the French Quarter. The rooms are very well appointed with large bedrooms, full bathrooms, our even had a washer and dryer and a balcony. It is great to have the space to sit in a separate area to entertain family and friends as well as a dining area and kitchen to...

Stayed here November 2015. Is a great walkable location right in the French Quarter just off Canal St. Very well maintained. Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with large parlour and kitchen area. The front desk staff were friendly and offered many suggestions for places to eat and things to do. Enjoyed the Sunday brunch and Tuesday supper. The pool...

An older property but it had such charm! Location was perfect - right in the French Quarter. Compliments to the staff - everyone! It was raining when we arrived and there was some road work being done in front of the resort so I called from the taxi and was told that the bellman would meet us on the corner....

We stayed a week at this resort in August 2015. We had a one bedroom with a living area and ktichen. We were on the first floor. We took our bikes and kept them in the room - they offered to keep them in the closet for us. The facility has a laundry room and outdoor pool, which was nice...

The Quarter House is in a great location to walk just about anywhere in the French Quarter in a matter of minutes. The accommodations were comfortable--we stayed in a two bedroom suite, which had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-equipped for basic cooking, and there was a full-sized refrigerator. While in the community area of the suite, the noise...

With the gold wall paper and exposed brick, there was no questioning we were staying in an old school french quarter hotel. I will say, it wasn't just a hotel, it was a time share hotel. The upside, was we were basically in a 2 bedroom 3 bathroom apartment. There was a full kitchen including a dishwasher and full sized...

The Quarter House has a lot going for it: location (within walking distance of so much!), staff (extremely helpful and cheerful), and atmosphere (quaint, clean, and very NOLA!). I am planning an anniversary trip back to this 'hotel'.

We felt at home right after checking into this hotel. (It's not easy to find while in an automobile, due to roads that are mostly pedestrian. The parking is a block away.) We had a quiet suite/room overlooking the inner courtyard. Once you walk outside, you're right in the middle of everything: jazz club, cigar factory, restaurants. Sure, the furniture...

The only reason I didn't give them a "5" rating was that they need to retire the mattress in the room we stayed in (410.) Everything else was excellent. The staff was excellent and extremely helpful. The accommodations were great... nice sized kitchen and living room. But the biggest attraction was that we were only 1 block away from the...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
