A wonderful location, so safe for 2 travelling ladies. Offering 2 single beds was just what we wanted. location perfect and the hosts Leigh and Jim and the dog were very friendly and helpful with local knowledge. Away from the noise of the French Qtr. but close enough to walk there. New Orleans has so much to offer than just...

This is a wonderful property with lovely owners, Leigh and Jim. We really wish we could have stayed longer than two nights. The breakfast was delicious and the rooms were well stocked and very comfortable! They really have thought of everything.

This review is way late but we stayed over the Columbus Day weekend. It was a fantastic stay. Location is the best. A block or so away from Frenchman St. and just a few more from the French Quarter. While it's located on a large main street, it is a quiet place to stay. Leigh and Jim were so gracious....

We would go back. This inn is on the eastern edge of the French Quarter. Walking distance to streetcar and all of the quarter, but far enough out to avoid nighttime craziness and we could actually get some sleep. The owners are delightful as is their bar-going dog, Zeke. Owners extremely knowledgeable about the city and environs, restaurants, sites, etc..,...

Leigh and Jim are fabulous hosts and attend to the smallest detail to make their guests feel at home. Not only is the Inn affordable, the breakfasts are delicious, the coffee great, the back and front porches inviting, and the location unbeatable. This was the first of many stays for us at the Elysian Fields Inn. Thanks, Ashlinn and Marsha

Stayed 3 nights and would stay again! The host, Jim and Leigh, were great and had wonderful recomendations for things to do and places to eat. The breakfast was wonderful and Zeke, the dog, was awesome. The location is a short walk to Frenchman Street and then just a little further to the French Quarter. Walked at all times of...

Our first visit to New Orleans -- so glad we chose Elysian Fields Inn to stay. Good location, wonderful house, accommodating innkeepers. My husband and I went with another couple for six days and we each had our own lovely room w/private bath on the second floor. The hosts, Jim and Leigh, were gracious from the beginning of our stay...

Leigh and Jim were delightful hosts, know everyone in the neighborhood and hooked us up with restaurant reservation that was perfect for our needs. They have a beautiful home, lovingly maintained, with fantastic art. The rooms were impeccably clean, well-decorated and with very high ceilings. Stayed on second floor, friends on first were early risers so folks going to breakfast...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
