Booked 2 nights post cruise. Excellent location -easy walk from the cruise ship pier maybe 10 minutes on flat sidewalk pavement ( wheelie bag ). I was super early for check in since I just got off the ship...but hotel stowed my bags and called me at 1:30 ish and said my room was ready. I had an exterior facing...

This hotel was everything we needed for our vacation to New Orleans. I reached out to LaShawn at the front desk before traveling, and she made sure our room assignment was perfection. This hotel is located in such a great area. I have stayed previously at the heart of the French Quarter, but found this hotel to be a much...

We're so happy to read your review, John! From our great location to our accommodating staff, it sounds like you enjoyed a truly wonderful visit to New Orleans. We're so glad you found a new favorite bar on this visit and appreciate your kind recommendation. We hope to welcome you back soon for more sangria and pecan pie!

The good: Location is convenient for those interested in walking to the convention center and also those interested in walking to the French quarter. There are some very nice restaurants very close by (merils, Peche, etc). Corner markets and Rouse's (grocery store) are a bit of trek, but certainly also walkable. Service was generally good (but see below). They have...

I'm giving this hotel a five star rating not because it is super luxurious but because it has two great things going for it. (1) Location. It's in the Arts District about a mile away from the French Quarter, which means you get can there fast enough if you want but can sleep at night and don't have to worry...

My go to hotel for most trips to NOLA. Great location in the warehouse district - away from the chaos in the French Quarter. Easy walk to the CBD for meetings, and 5/10 minutes walk to the FQ. Near to some of the finest restaurants in NOLA. Staff is friendly and accommodating. One thing that is missing is a concierge...

Stayed in Rm 447 for 5 nights. Pros: Great location, Nice clean room and hotel, Friendly staff- which included Tracy, James, and Leah. Exercise room was sufficient with a few universal machines, 3 treadmills, two bikes, and 2 elipiticals. Outdoor pool and Jacuzzi (rooftop 5th floor) were clean and heated. Cons: Not much really, but to nit pick we did...

In New Orleans for a short cruise getaway with my best friend. Stayed one night and was impressed. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. It was immaculate! We had an Executive Room and it was nicely decorated with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in at a hotel. Very convenient to the French Quarter, cruise port,...

Nice hotel, clean and location convenient to dining, museums and French Quarter. Hotel is converted warehouse so some rooms do not have views. There is not room service although you can call restaurant and they will box up food you can pick up.

This hotel is located about 15-20 mins walk from the French quarter. A great choice if you want to be in a quieter area but close to a lot of restaurants and activities. Loved New Orleans, just the music, street life and restaurants are worth it! A very pleasant Marriott hotel, very spacious rooms and bath and reasonably priced. Coffee and tea but no bar. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A historic setting, contemporary style, and a unbeatable location near New Orleans' French Quarter and in the heart of the trendy food mecca of the Warehouse District: all of this and more elevates the Renaissance New Orleans Arts Hotel to an unforgettable New Orleans experience. Our building is a former warehouse, dating from the early 20th century; we've preserved a sense of old-world elegance in our surroundings, while simultaneously infusing a thoroughly contemporary sense of convenience and art. Please note that our restaurant is currently undergoing renovations and we look forward to unveiling a stunning new restaurant to our guests in early 2015. For now, we recommend that our guests enjoy the many amazing New Orleans dining experiences within a short walking distance of our front doors, such as Cochon, Emeril's, Root, Tommy's Bistro, and many more. Our Navigators will be delighted to help you discover the best possible cuisine during your stay in New Orleans. ... more   less
