Great location if you want to be near the French Quarter...even have some fast food options within walking distance so every meal doesn't have to cost big bucks. Parking is quite expensive in the area and had trouble checking in with desk getting our cards straight, but all in all, a good stay. Beautiful, old hotel with nice accomodations.

I stay here about twice a year. It's very convenient to downtown and Bourbon Street. Easy walk to the rive and the warehouse district also. Rates are reasonable and the hotel clean. Elevators always seem slow but I'm neber in that much of a rush.

I live in New Orleans and stayed here for one night, just because Priceline had a great rate and I just wanted a night on the town with my hubby. Please give Nick (the front desk) a raise... Genevia, Stacy, and Tynicka are both great as well.

The Astor Crowne plaza is an amazing location. The Bourbon House is attached which provides a great start to the meal options available in New Orleans. I truly enjoyed the service from arrival to departure and look forward to returning there again.

The hotel is in the heart of street flaire on the Bourbon Street and Canal. The night life is never ending so if rest is required at night get a room on the opposite side. There is a balcony in Level 2 that allows guest to witness the active crowds from afar. Initially, the hustle of the locals almost deterred...

The location of the Crown Plaza French Quarter is great. It is nice clean and the staff are great. It is quite and secure. It is close to Bourbon Street. The only issue is that sometimes the rooms does not get cleaned by housekeeping until after 3pm.

This hotel is in a good location for those who want to enjoy the quarter, and it is reasonably nice inside. However the service is extremely lacking. My poor experience began at check-in. I am a Spire member with IHG, but that was in no way recognized at check-in. Now this type of thing doesn't usually affect my reviews, but...

Loved my stay at the CrownePlaza. The people were gracious and helpful and made our stay! The food was wonderful and reasonable. Easy access to the French Quarter too! I'd recommend this hotel to anyone...for the accommodations, staff, and proximity to Bourbon Street!

There is no reason check in should take an hour. I waited almost an hour in line to check in. Unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. The hotel should know how many bookings they have and plan accordingly. Not the greatest first impression. Haven't even seen the room yet.

There are negative reviews written in a snit of anger, and those written out of forehead-smacking disbelief – this one is the latter. The hotel is on the edge of the French quarter, located on Canal Street. So the location would seem great because you can stroll right into the French Quarter, right? Welllll, yeah, but… The back of the...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
