Stayed here 5 nights for a professional meeting at the nearby convention center. Our flight got us in a bit early but the staff allowed us to store our bags while we toured the city. They gave us a call when the room was all set, and we got to get in to our room earlier than normal. The service...

This hotel is good if you really want the basics. It's slightly away from the craziness of the quarter, but walkable. The people who work here were wonderful, but the rooms were poorly cleaned, stocked and cared after. The whole place felt asleep for years.

This place was great! Best place in my opinion for viewing the Mardi Gras parades. The parades run right past the hotel, which sets up a nice viewing area. They only allow guests inside, so you don't have to fight crowds in the lobby to get back to your room. The streetcar is right there too, and is a great...

Just had a wonderful visit at this hotel during Bayou Classic. The staff was very attentive and accommodating to the needs of my family and I .Carl went above and beyond to take care of everyone he encountered. We will definitely be staying again for mardi gras.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It's right on the streetcar line with easy access to both uptown and downtown. It has a quaint boutique feel to it. It's no frills, but quite comfortable. Our room was tucked away in a corner so it was very quiet. We could have chosen a much higher priced hotel in the CBD...

Great location, on the St Charles streetcar line, very easy to get around. Rooms are ok, for my taste rather on the small side but clean and nicely decorated. But the best part was Carl he was very helpful always had great suggestions. Because of Carl we saw more of New Orleans then we would have on our own. I...

We enjoyed our stay at The Hotel Modern. Luv the location near the trolley line, convention center and the French Quarter. Every employee we met was friendly, professional and accommodating. Carl was especially nice...and funny. Tivoli and Lee, the restaurant in the hotel, is EXCELLENT. We enjoyed our meals there as much or better than some of the "well known"...

Just stayed there, for 4 nights for a conference. Had some issues, don't think I would recommend this place, there are much nicer hotels in the area, I know because some of my fellow conference attendees stayed elsewhere. This hotel doesn't offer much and doesn't have great service. Key cards didn't work the second night, and even after repeatedly being...

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
