The staff were generally unfriendly, but a few were very helpful. the room is exactly what you would expect. i enjoyed the space, the best was comfortable, but the headboard slammed against the wall when ever you moved or sat on the bed. i had the single room, it was small but it had a huuge bathroom. the amenties provided...

We had a nice experience at this hotel this past weekend. We were only in town for one night so the room suited us just fine for what we needed it for: a place to lay our heads. The location worked out well thanks to the streetcar that runs right out front. Carl was absolutely wonderful and in my opinion,...

The Hotel Modern was fine for my stay in New Orleans, but only just. The room was a little drab, with poorly matched paint patches and zero style. The bathroom was much better, with decent products. Housekeeping arrived much later than I would have expected, when I returned to freshen up around 3. She kindly offered to come back after...

Booked through Groupon based on reviews. Took my family. Booked two double rooms for two nights. Not sure who did the reviews or if they are paying for reviews but... Parking: Valet is $36. Parking garage is $10, but it's two blocks away around the corner. Reception: Patrice was helpful and great. Deposit of $50 per night required for incidentals....

We stayed here and loved it. The employees were great, bar was nice, rooms were great. Only issue was the room is very small. The location worked for us because of the public transportation. We were able to travel anywhere. Thanks

We had a great experience at Hotel Modern this past weekend. This hotel had the nicest people working there, especially Carl. He was so helpful, yet non-intrusive. He had the best tips and went out of his way to help us in every way. We were there for the NOLA Super 60 basketball tournament and with 9 fourteen year-old boys,...

Got in late, but was quickly checked in. Room looked well kept. Bed was a bit stiff but not uncomfortable by any means. Bathroom was quite spacious, and The mobile bed-side table was a convenient touch. Nice selection of books also. All-in-all great small room at a reasonable rate, no complaints at all.

We stayed for a long weekend and had the best time. Good location: walking distance to some great restaurants and coffee houses and right on the St Charles street car line. We has a noisy neighbor and the hotel immediately took care of it. A special thanks to Carl at the hotel!

We arrived as part of a group on a coach tour late afternoon. For at least 10/12 of us our rooms were not ready and we were left hanging around for ages. In fact one couple in our group had to wait for their room to be cleaned. The front desk staff were unhelpful and surly. Once in our room...

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
