We just came back from a long weekend in New Orleans visiting our daughter, who is at Tulane University in the Garden District. We've stayed in many hotels and bed and breakfasts while visiting with her. The Drury was a definite find and will now be a permanent part of the rotation. The Drury is very comfortable, modern, and well...

Loved the location of this hotel just outside of the French quarter. The room was comfortable and the staff very accommodating. The breakfast in the morning had plenty to choose from and we were always satisfied. Never went to the happy hour so can't comment on that. I would stay here again.

We had never been to NOLA so it's always hard to know where to stay in an unfamiliar city. The location of this hotel was ok. There is a trolley stop right outside that will take you to the French quarter but it's not direct- you will need to change trollies. It's outside of the craziness you can find in...

The location of property was very centrally located to everything. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable as well as large. Love that they give you free drink and food cards and that you have the option for their free breakfast as well.

My stay here was great. The rooms were nice, big and clean. There was plenty available in the complementary breakfast. The best thing was the rooftop pool! The hotel had a big focus on safety which I appreciated. There was only valet parking which was a shame as it made parking a bit expensive at $30 a day.

Very clean and nice touch with the early evening cocktail snack time. 3 free drinks per day and snacks. The room was very clean and comfortable but you can hear doors closing from the other rooms. The rooftop pool is nice for timeout from sight seeing. The St. Charles trolley is right outside of the hotel and you are a...

This hotel has a great location, about halfway between the French quarter and the WW2 Museum, and the green streetcar line is right on the corner. Check in was a breeze and we were able to get into our room early, which was fantastic as we wanted to unwind a bit before our city tour. The front desk staff was...

Stayed one night. Easy access to Amtrak station. Everyone was super friendly. Needed car at 5:00am. It was quickly delivered. There are numerous places to eat just a very short walk away. Will stay here again.

As others have commented, the staff are very hard- working and amiable. Both qualities are needed at peak times for breakfast and the glorious 5.30pm kick-back. Similarly, I agree that the room quality is superb, with a vast Queen- size and tasteful decor in our 9th floor corner room. The location is fine for a quiet night's sleep away from...

This place is great for families. The hotel is not luxurious, but it's nicely designed and very well kept. It is centrally located if you are in town for more than the French Quarter. The street car into the Garden District and other parts of Uptown is just one block away, and it drops you back right by the hotel....

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
