The location of the hotel makes it very noisey at night. Also, there is no mini fridge or microwave in the rooms. For the price we paid it would have been nice to have a quiet room and a fridge and microwave!

Excellent hotel within walking distance to all that NOLA has to offer. Historic property. Very comfortable beds, soft linens, and good sized rooms. Very friendly and courteous staff. Highly recommended.

I would return to this hotel. Overall friendliness of staff was great. Service was good. Rooms were clean. Getting my car took to long, they told me 15 minutes and it was more like 35 minutes. But overall I would return.

Beautiful old building with all the charm, however, it needs some updating in a major way. First of all, I was locked out of my room 5 different times, which meant I had to go back down the the lobby every time! When I got into my room, I noticed the bathroom sink was dirty! Sure enough the sink was...

We stayed here for the Rock and Roll marathon - it was right at the starting line. Beaux checked us in quickly and answered all of our questions about things to do and places not to miss. He even made a recommendation for a great restaurant.

We stayed here for one night to break up a long journey. It was ideal for seeing various civil rights and other historical monuments and museums. In Montgomery there are historical signposts giving useful information.

Stunning conversion of a bank building into a hotel lobby (and restaurant). Great example of architectural preservation. I'm not an expert, but its obvious that the vault, teller counters, and other characteristics of the original bank are still there. Plus, on the "other side of the restaurant" there is an actual bank which can be seen through the window. Also,...

The staff were friendly and accommodating to all our needs. This hotel was centrally located for our needs and a close walk to transportation. The rooms we chose were small, but more than sufficient for our needs. The hotel was clean and well maintained. I will stay there again when I am in New Orleans.

This stay was the second time I, amd my group, have stayed at the Whitney. We all enjoyed our stay and were very happy with the friendly, knowledgeable staff and the comfort of the rooms. We are planning to stay at the Whitney again next year.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
