Stayed here for MardiGras and were very pleased with our third floor room. You need to know that it is 42ish steps to this room. Absolutely within walking distance to several area attractions and an inexpensive cab ride to others Breakfasts were very yummy and do end at 9:30 sharp. I would have liked to see a bit more meat...

We stayed in Room 3 in March for five nights and then returned to the same room in May (it felt like coming home) for six nights - the latter for a family wedding, and our experience both times was wonderful. Cindy is a great host, welcomed family who dropped by, accommodated our changing plans, and told us about little...

My husband and I stayed at Monrose Row for four nights as part of a road trip discovering the Mississippi. Everything that has been said in previous reviews of the B & B is true, but they do not really reflect the true ambience of the place. Cindy is a fantastic host, she is very knowledgeable about the city and...

Wonderful value B&B close enough to the quarter for the "quarter feel" but far enough away for true piece and quiet. Cindy is wonderful and very helpful. Breakfasts are wonderful, rooms are clean. This place is best for couples wanting to be able to spend some time relaxing. Nothing over the top as far as amenities, but one of the...

My husband and I stayed in the third floor of Monrose Row for a four-day weekend on our first wedding anniversary. Cindy was a wonderful host during our stay. She was very accommodating in letting us drop off our bags early and arranging for our taxi to the airport. She also gave great recommendations on places to eat and visit,...

Every nice thing you have read about Cindy and Monrose Row; from the extraordinary breakfasts, the great recommendations from Cindy, to the attractiveness, cleanliness and comfort of the accommodations, is true and then some. The building, courtyard, and hostess are all so wonderful that, had we never walked out the front door, we still would have had a great time in...

The location of this B&B could not be more perfect. Just a block or two from the edge of the French Quarter means you are just a few minuted walk from all the action but do not have to hear the late partiers. We stayed in the suite on the very top floor and it was just amazing. Cindy has...

We stayed at Cindy's beautiful B&B in November. She was a superb hostess, who is the physical embodiment of Southern hospitality. She shared her vast knowledge of the area including dining options, music venues, quality historical tours and excellent directions to get us to everything safely. Her delicious breakfasts included coffee, fruit and a main dish (almond french toast and...

My wife and I recently spent six nights at Monrose Row for the first weekend of JazzFest (plus some more time, obviously). I've been to Nawlins many times, but had never stayed in Treme before, but a good friend stayed at Monrose Row two years ago, and highly recommended it. As the reviews indicate, he wasn't lying. Cindy is a...

My husband and I booked Monrose Row after our daughter stayed there last year for Jazzfest, and couldn't stop talking about it. We have never stayed at a B and B before. If you want to know how much we enjoyed ourselves, and appreciated Cindy's hospitality, just know that I am typing this from my iPhone at the airport! I...

Staying in Treme

Neighbourhood Profile
Treme
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
