All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Nicole in the welcome office. Nicole assisted with booking tours and laying out all of the activities for the week, suggesting restaurants, and taverns.

The W is located 2 blocks from everything you care to walk to while visiting the Big Easy. We found the double queen bedroom with a balcony to be large, clean and quiet. A must after a long day of walking the streets, eating your weight and sipping a few hurricanes. The private patio is a welcome surprise tucked off...

I badly want to give the hotel a 5 star for the location and cleanliness. It is not like the other Ws which are all large modern industrial buildings. This one had the feel of a boutique hotel. The room was clean, front staff helpful with suggestions and I absolutely loved the sitting area in the courtyard, perfect for unwinding...

A bit like the French Quarter outside, our room was bold, colourful, and quirky, but a bit worse for wear after one too many parties. Our room would have benefited greatly from a paint touchup and a carpet clean (some sticky patches!) That being said, it was comfortable and convenient- we found it a great base for exploring the French...

The only thing that this establishment has going for it is its perfect location in the heart of the French Quarter. Everything else - from its unprofessional staff and the astoundingly poor service they provide to its rundown rooms and grimy premises - falls well below the W standard. When we arrived at the hotel, the bellhop just stood and...

Location was great, staff was super friendly, bar was fun, restaurant is pretty. Room was tiny and had a strong smell of air freshener. Had to wash everything I hung in the closet when I returned home it still smelled like the hotel.

It is wonderful to hear you enjoyed SoBou and the staff, although I am sorry to hear our W scent was overwhelming. Please let us know when you are returning to NOLA and we will have a scent-free room prepared for you. Thanks for being our guest. Cheers!

We had a fun, funky room. The pool and the garden was magnificent. Very relaxing. Right in the heart of it all! The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome.I really love this property, it's only 97 rooms and it's just a warm feeling unlike the larger impersonal properties.

Jermaine was great in getting our room upgraded for our anniversary during French Quarter Festival and Quentin in the valet area was friendly and fun and always there to answer a questions. This is a great hotel with very friendly people and good service. We've stayed there a few times a few years ago but I think the people they...

I expect a certain level of quality stay at the W’s. This one is far from my general perception of this chain. Yes, its modern and targeted to the younger consumers, however, everything else seems to be more of joke. Location: very good as it is within a short walk from Bourbon Street or all the must-see places in New...

The W Hotel is a popular place to stay in the French Quarter as it's near fine dining and family geared restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. The hotel is also within walking distance of Jackson Square (Cafe DuMond Beignets), Bourbon Street, the streetcars on Canal and the Mississippi River. The room we stayed in was on the second floor and...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
