My husband & I came to NOLA for a conference at the convention center (10 very interesting blocks away with many refreshing spots along the way!) Yet we wanted to stay in the French Quarter. My husband visited Bourbon Street (1/2 block away) With his friends and I wanted to see galleries & jazz clubs (1/2 block away) . The...

If you want a boutique hotel experience one half a block off Bourbon Street, try Hotel le Marais. It was quiet, clean and ultra convenient for all the local attractions. The staff was lovely to work with and very friendly and helpful. The full breakfast was a pleasant surprise. I would definitely stay there again.

This very nice small hotel was in a perfect location for our first New Orleans trip. Easy to get around French Quarter on foot, close to many attractions. Around the corner from Bourbon Street yet very quiet. Very comfortable room with a little balcony. Only complaint was that there wasn't any room to hang towels! The entire staff was very...

Great experience in the lobby. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Only disappointment was that bedspread and shower could have been cleaner. Bedspread had odd/dark staining that freaked me out. I threw it off the bed and prayed the sheets/pillows were as clean as they appeared. Glass partition of the shower also needed better cleaning. Room was spacious and in otherwise...

The hotel was clean and the staff where friendly. I had the opportunity to stay one night in New Orleans at the last minute and I was able to get a good rate. The location despite being so close to Bourbon Street was quiet, and the bar made great drinks. I checked in early and my room was ready so...

Our room was comfortable but not spacious. Not enough room to hang clothes in closet or put toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was nice and the courtyard was awesome. Loved spending time by the pool. Pool was warm but a bit small to really swim. This hotel has a great central location close to most of our favorite NOLA restaurants;...

Returned to our favorite French Quarter hotel after trip 2 years ago. Loved it then, loved it again! Helpful staff, central location, with the personal touch of a boutique hotel. Terrific hot breakfast , cozy bar for late night ... the good reviews are real.

The location is excellent, the room was generally quiet during sleeping hours despite being only a block or so off of Bourbon Street. The walls were apparently thin because we heard the couple in the next room very clearly in the morning. Very good bed, excellent temperature control in room, small bathroom and shower, but great water pressure made up...

this is a small but nice hotel in the heat of the French quarter. The location is excellent. This staff was great. Loved the bar and the breakfast was quick and easy. The only down size was the room was small but it was very nice.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
