We were thrilled that our business trip was booked at this wonderful hotel. I had visited the Spa at this location during a previous business trip so I was a little familiar with the location. My first recommendation would be to familiarize yourself with the layout of the property because there are many entrances/exits and hidden areas such as the...

This beautiful hotel is very centrally located just steps from Bourbon Street in the heart of New Orleans. The staff is incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. I will definitely be staying at this hotel on future trips to New Orleans.

I recently stayed at the Ritz in New Orleans, my first visit. The hotel itself is grand, the location spot on and the staff very accommodating. I would like to give a special kudos to "Chubbz" the Canal Street door man. Loved seeing your smiling face everyday and you were most helpful.

Love the live jazz that plays on Wednesday and Thursday nights; the hotel is walking distance to Jackson Square and Bourbon Street. Rooms are beautiful and the gym is large and smells new. The staff is wonderful.

The NOLA Ritz-Carlton is beautiful property (used to be the iconic Maison Blanche Department Store many years ago). Service is exceptional - they absolutely remember you and your preferences. The Davenport Lounge offers great live entertainmant (Jeremy Davenport) with tasty food (Jambalaya Fritters, Fried Green Tomatoes & a perfect Sazerac). The fitness center is well-appointed with a great pool. I...

This is my second year staying on the concierge floor. Last year was much better. Service was lacking, bar tender didn't know the drinks we ordered, or even the wine we asked about. Last year they offered to go get something if they didn't have it. This year, was an 'Oh, well, sorry about your luck'. Someone in the group...

Excellent location to Bourbon Street and the surrounding attractions such as Café du Monde which is a nice walk. A beautiful interior, courtyard and the gardenia smell is incredible. They sell the candles in the gift shop as each Ritz has its own signature scent. Davenport Lounge and its musicians are a hit with guests and locals. Excellent food in...

So we went to New Orleans without expecting anything as it was more of a spur of the moment decision - not knowing what to expect as this was a 1st time for me to visit this lovely city. I searched for a list of restos online and sent it to the hotel a few days before the trip -...

I have stayed here about four times in the last year, and find the hotel to be an inviting, enjoyable, well-managed place to stay. The club floor is more expensive than the other floors, but I highly recommend it for anyone wishing to get that extra pampering. I have found the staff that maintains the food in the main club...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
