My wife and I ate dinner at M-Bistro in the Ritz Carlton and were definitely satisfied with our decision to dine there. The char-broiled oysters were out of this world and my meal of homemade pasta and crab was absolutely delicious. My wife had the Grilled Pork Chop, which was cooked to perfection, but had some grizzle. The ambiance of...

Great hotel stay. Perfect location adjacent to all French Quarter activities but yet quiet and relaxed once inside. Main entrance on Canal St.and a rear entrance at the corner of Iberville and Dauphine Sts. made access convenient no matter where you where coming and going. Street car lines right on Canal st also made getting around super convenient. Room was...

We were visiting friends in Houston and they booked a weekend in New Orleans. We drove 6 hours to arrive at the Ritz. What a lovely hotel! this was proper 5 star luxury. our room was lovely (although our friends had a problem with their AC being permanently cold). we were only there for a few days so spent most of...

Came to New Orleans for a two-day conference and booked this Ritz-Carlton through a Travelocity Package with airfare. Pleasantly appointed room; had a nice view of the River and French Quarter with the sunrise in the AM. Service and Front Desk staff were superb, as was the Concierge, Melinda: excellent restaurant recommendations! Bar and Lunch Service were excellent. Very posh...

I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans from October 1 - 4, booked the room through the AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts Program. Upon check-in, I was upgraded to the Club Level King, which was unexpected, but quite lovely. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and the lounge access was great. I loved the feeling of being in a small hotel...

I've stayed at many Ritz properties, however this hotel is by far the most luxurious of all. Last month we were in the Miami property which didn't even compare to this hotel. From the moment we checked in the service was beyond compare. A young man, Josh, I believe, made sure that we had a memorable time. We were lucky...

I must say that I will never quite be same after staying at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. It is incredibly close to all the amazing things that Bourbon St has to offer (man-paradise), yet far enough to where you can leap into upper class luxury. Traveling is hard enough, the Ritz make it seem like you're at home and provides...

I stayed here for two nights while attending a conference at the hotel. The hotel is beautifully decorated and it is clear they have spared no expense with decorating. The room itself was spacious with a nice bathroom and very nice king sized bed. The staff, housekeeping, etc., were great. There is a nice atrium to sit at while having...

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Ritz. Our room was on the fourth floor facing Canal St, so not much of a view, but still let us people watch. The fitness facility was very nice, and service is beyond fantastic. They have a back entrance as well that helps shorten the walk from Bourbon St! We were a bit...

My wife and I planned a weekend trip to New Orleans to celebrate my birthday. We decided on the Ritz-Carlton and we loved it. It is perfectly located on Canal very close to the French Quarter. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
