Let me begin with 1) Peter & Ruby are the prime feature of this B&B...yes it is well appointed & you will be safe & cozy in the New Orleans lake district...but you will really enjoy staying with Peter & Ruby...whether it's to hear their own stories of how they met & emigrated & their families or to get tips...

Staying at Rose Manor is as close to time travelling as one can be. The decor is strictly made of genuine antique pieces that throw you back a century instantly. Your hosts, Ruby and Peter will always do everything they can to help you and to make your stay memorable. Their knowledge of the area will shorten your research time...

My family and I are used to staying in big hotels, so we didn't know what to expect while staying at a Bed and Breakfast. We were so pleasantly surprised! What an amazing home and what incredibly nice people!! Pete and Ruby were truly the best host and hostess EVER! They made breakfast to order each morning and treated us...

I was looking for a unique place where my wife and I could spend our 25th anniversary. I had never been to the New Orleans area and my wife hadn't since she was a child. After some searching I found Rose Manor. After emailing and talking with Ruby I made the reservation. The cost is very reasonable for this area....

Spent Labor Day weekend in New Orleans. We where a bit concerned with the reputation of the city. Peters knowledge of the area helped us plan our days there and had a great time. The B&B is in a great location, walking distance to some of New Orleans finest restaurants. Peter and Ruby were excellent host and I have to...

The photos make the place look like a cross between grandma's home and an antique supermarket... and there sure is a lot of STUFF in the place. When my friend booked the room there... I admit I was a bit concerned. What you don't see in the pictures is how comfortable the place is or how incredibly nice hosts Ruby...

The best B&B we have ever stayed in. Clean, friendly, reasonably priced. Great location. Very safe. Peter and Ruby were wonderful hosts and could not have been more helpful to us. Shared their knowledge of the area which enabled us to make good use of our time. We highly recommend this place. Truly a home away from home! Mike/Joan Currier

First time for me and the hosts were so welcoming it was like visiting a family friend I had not seen for years. I have stayed at big corporate hotels and it does not compare with what you get with Ruby and Peter that personal touch. The short history of there surrounding areas it was truly unforgettable. I recommend to...

Spent three nights at this most wonderful B&B. Ruby and Peter were superior hosts and could not do enough to accomodate our every need. The breakfast was superior and made for the start of a great day. Would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at Rose Manor twice. Both times, Peter and Ruby were wonderful hosts who operate a clean, quiet, safe and comfortable B&B. I definitely recommend Rose Manor and plan to stay there when I visit New Orleans again.

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
