My boyfriend and I stayed at the Rose Manor for 5 days during our trip to New Orleans. The hosts; Ruby and Peter; were spectacular and knowledgeable. They provided us with different recommendations of things to do around the city. Peter has been in New Orleans for 30 years and he has so much knowledge of the city. A simple,...

I love this place. The house is a gorgeously decorated home with comfortable, and generous rooms. The lovely folks running the joint are friendly and make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Try their waffles for breakfast! And speaking of food, the resturant next door called Ming's has the best food. I had a great time in New...

Any time I am in New Orleans, LA I will be booking this wonderful bed and breakfast. Peter and Ruby are wonderful. They make sure that your every need is cared for. Rooms were very clean, and all amenities are modernized. The location is very convenient. My fiancé and I had a most relaxing stay. Breakfast was delicious. I will...

Would definitely stay again. Peter and Ruby are relaxed, gracious hosts who make you feel at home from the start. Love the outside deck for early morning reading and music. It is a drive from the French Quarter and the Fairgrounds, but we used Uber and avoided the expense and parking issues of renting a car. Met interesting people from...

We just returned from a wonderful week-long stay at the Rose Manor B & B. Owners Peter and Ruby were simply wonderful in making our stay comfortable, plus provided local knowledge about restaurants and sights to see. We have limited B & B experience and are now thoroughly spoiled by the southern hospitality showered on us by Ruby & Peter.

Highly recommend the Rose Manor. The room was very clean and amenities were modern and well cared for. Breakfast options are plentiful, from simple yogurt and fruit to eggs and bacon or sausage, with waffles or french toast in between. The location is quiet and safe and sufficient parking is available out front. That said, a car is necessary to...

The rooms are spacious, updated and clean. The proprietors are wonderful. They are warm and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. If we ever have the opportunity to go back to New Orleans we will definitely stay here. Close to everything but far enough away to relax.

This B&B is wonderful in every way. The owners, Ruby and Peter Verhoeven, made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was large, with a big, comfortable king-size bed, and the bathroom was very modern, and appeared to have been recently renovated. The room had lots of electrical outlets, and the wifi was fast, with an easy...

Had a wonderful stay at The Rose Manor. My flight was delayed by 7 hours, and I arrived at midnight, but Peter and Ruby stayed up to greet me and show me around. Great conversation over breakfast with the other guests from all over the USA and Europe. Clean room, comfortable bed. Good wifi connection. Peter even drove me to...

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
