First the bad: the neighborhood is a mess...kind of grim. Abandoned high-rise next door, etc. Also, with road construction and closed I-10 ramps, there is some extra hassle. (October, 2015) The good: I drove in and out. I felt plenty safe. Security and the general vibe was reassuring. Staff was nice. I didn't feel unsafe at all. I haven't stayed... More

Very basic motel, but for exploring New Orleans it's ok. Receptionist gave us a great tip to park on the edge of the main streets then take a tram into the city. Really cheap way to explore otherwise you have to pay ridiculous parking fees.

We were pleasantly surprised! At this price, you never know. It was clean and everyone was friendly, especially our housekeeper Cathy. Less than 10 minutes to the Basin Street Station where we parked for the Hop On Hop Off bus tour and only 1 1/2 miles to WalMart. Would definitely stay here again.
