We stayed at the Sully Mansion over a weekend in March. We checked in on Friday afternoon and left Sunday morning. We were running a tad late, but got a call from the innkeeper Melinda who confirmed our impending arrival and gave us some parking tips (street parking only). We were generally impressed with Melinda's friendliness and level of service...

When travelling through the US last year we decided to try a B&B for a change during our stop in New Orleans. It ended up being one of the highlights of the trip with the owners being some of the most accomodating and friendly people we had the pleasure of meeting in our travels. Would love to return. If I...

Melinda was so gracious and accommodating! We were in New Orleans for our 20th anniversary. We stayed in the Dauphine room and we absolutely loved it! Its beautiful bathroom with spacious shower and Jacuzzi tub were wonderful. We especially enjoyed the private, exterior entrance with our own private patio area. The Sully Mansion is one block from the St. Charles...

We come to New Orleans a lot to visit family and friends. Sully Mansion is our new favorite place. The location in the garden district is magical. You're near the street car, a great bookstore and coffee shop, Magazine Street for restaurants and shops, and your neighbors are celebrities. We loved sitting on the porch. Melinda and her dog Henri...

We absolutely loved everything about Sully Mansion. The house itself is just adorable, with great architectural details like coved ceilings and stained glass throughout. The owner did an amazing job making our short visit as comfortable as possible. We stayed in the Royal, and found the two beds to be comfortably appointed with plush bedding and lots of pillows. The...

The Sully Mansion was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The rooms are large and have been updated with individually controlled heat and air, luxurious bedding, and beautiful furnishings. It is an excellent location-one block from St. Charles and the trolley. It is also a short walk to Magazine street and all that it has to offer. Melinda, the innkeeper, could...

We loved the Dauphine room for its lovely bathroom and private, exterior entrance. The Inn is very well-maintained and close to lots of fun activities. The food was delicious and the Innkeepers were friendly and available without being overly chatty.

We wanted to stay in the Garden District and the inn's location is perfect. The Sully Mansion has new owners and the updating is near completion. A phone conversation with Melinda, innkeeper, prior to booking sealed the deal for us. She was warm, friendly, gracious and welcoming. Melinda helped with dinner reservations and tips of all kinds. Our four night...

The bed and breakfast was clean. A comfortable chair(s) would be nice. It would be nice to have a little snack mid-afternoon plus coffee before 8. It is a great area. You park your car on the street but that is common place in NOLA?

Sully was undergoing changes in ownership/management and decoration/renovation . Melinda , was apologetic and very personable. Our room was charming and spacious. The breakfast was lovely and at a southern pace. Located a block from the St. Charles street car, we found the location very convenient. Our 3 nights flew by as we explored New Orleans for the first time. Weather...

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
