This hotel has all the basics; no complaints if you're looking for a room/bath, place to sleep in the quarter. There were PROS & CONS, just like any place. First, the PROS: Reasonably priced, in the Quarter, secure, a pool, a nice continental breakfast. There was an ice machine, and the room had a mini-fridge. You're a block away from...

This little hotel is charming and friendly. There's a courtyard and parking, both of which we were grateful to have. The staff are accomodating and informative. The bed was small but comfortable and the shower had great pressure though the temperature was often variable. The location puts you within easy walking distance of all the fun night spots, but at...

There needs to be a mirror outside bath to help guests get ready. A shelf or something to help with toothbrushes etc in bath. The hotel was in a great location. Staff pleasant enough. Guests incredibly loud and disturbing in early hours 2 nights we stayed there.

If the hotel rooms were updated and better cleaned it would be a great place to stay. We dreaded using our bathroom each time... the shower was clogged and kept flooding us out. The housekeeping staff doesn't even clean the bathroom when they come in. The tv never worked for us. The positives are the location of the hotel and...

Very charming hotel in good location in french quarter. Good value and clean. Breakfast îs simple and free coffee all day long. Good parking off site for $30. a day, which most hotels charge you. Premise is secure at night.

Very nice hotel. Staff was friendly but be patient. Small hotel with limited staff, we all need to slow down anyway :). This is a 200 YO building well maintained but it did have some minor (cosmetic) issues. Had a good time and would consider staying at Chateau Hotel again.

The bright spot at the Chateau Hotel was definitely Mr. Eric at the front desk. He is a true southern sweetheart! The rest of the staff was less than desirable. The hotel and grounds are badly in need of some better upkeep. We booked a room for 4 people and were given a room with one bed. Since we came...

Dear sarahnic0lec, Though I am happy to hear that Eric charmed you with his southern hospitality, I am disappointed that you did not get the same treatment from the rest of the staff. This is alarming and we will use this as a training point for all Chateau employees. Regarding the property, I assure you that this is not the...

The Chateau is a reasonable priced gem in the heart of the French Quarter that showcases an exceptionally colorful concierge that diligently works to ensure your stay at the hotel and visit to New Orleans will be one to remember. It is far enough from the hectic partying of the Bourbon Street section of French Quarter to enjoy a serene...

Location, as promised, was fantastic. Perfect for anyone who wants to be 'in the centre of life' in the French Quarter. The staff at the hotel are also fantastic (although we were promised a cab on our check out to the airport which never arrived). The room was poor. Unclean and not well maintained.

The hotel is beautiful but in need of some repairs or renovations. The location is excellent if you don't mind a bit of walking. The area felt very safe, but you could still hear noise from businesses nearby. The staff was wonderful and helpful regarding recommendations and accommodations.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
