We needed somewhere to stay that would let us bring our German Shepherd, and from the website Creole Gardens seemed to have everything I was looking for. A wonderful old building, we stayed in one of the cottages that had been the slave quarters, and it was so full of charm yet had everything we needed, and the breakfasts were...

I was planning our week get a way for our anniversary.. Being that we had never been to NOLA, I was exploring my options and there are many!! I booked our first night in a fabulous mansion right in the quarters. Then, for two nights I wanted something old and cozy not 5 star and elegant where the other guests...

This is my last evening staying at the Creole Gardens Guesthouse. I have stayed here for 3 nights. And I don't regret it for one moment. Friendly and helpful people, a comfortable room. And very close to St. Charles Avenue, which makes it easy to catch the street car to the French Quarter. I think it is an advantage that...

Creole Gardens is beautiful and well-located with a friendly staff and delicious breakfast! The courtyard is nice, the rooms comfortable and unique--each one is different--and the streetcar is only a block away. I first stayed here in 2008 because I needed a dog-friendly place, and have since returned many times, whether or not I had my dog with me, because...

I found Creole Gardens while I was trying to find somewhere to stay in New Orleans with my dog, and I am so glad I did! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, and the courtyard was incredibly charming. It is located just steps away from the St. Charles trolley, which can get you to all the...

Creole Gardens B&B is conveniently located. It is located just a block from St. Charles Avenue where you can catch a street car to Canal Street and the French Quarter. If you go the opposite direction on a street car, you can go to the Garden District, Audubon Park & Zoo, etc. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance....

The krewe at Creole Gardens made my dog and I truly feel at home and like we were family. We had just moved to NOLA and were house less upon arrival. The family of Creole Gardens not only welcomed us with open arms and fed us the yummiest breakfast each morning, but they also helped us unpack our car and...

I really don't understand the rave reviews this place received. Even though we got a phone call confirming our arrival time, we had to wait over 30 minutes for anyone to get to the office. The "cottages", house and courtyard were certainly unique in a funky way, but it crossed the line into run-down. Also, the rooms lacked even simple...

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
