The paint is peeling, the balcony is squishy, there are broken tiles on the floor, but this is authentic New Orleans and this seems to be the rule and not the exception. My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and have not been disappointed. The night we arrived the bedsheets were dirty and housekeeping had left for the...

Management response:

Christopher, We do hope you were good enough to point out the peeling paint and broken tile as when guests leave they rarely admit to breaking tile and few seem to be looking for peeling paint. This information is necessary to us though. You have good perspective on our hotel though. We do offer an authentic New Orleans experience and...

We had one of the suites next to the roof terrace which meant we were able to visit mardi gras in new orleans and have two separate rooms with a shared living area for a pretty reasonable price. The place was immaculate and the balcony had views across the bustling frenchmen street. Swimming pool was lovely and warm and hot...

This little gem of hotel is perfectly located to experience the Nawlins vibe, close to Bourbon st, bars , food, nightlife. It's older but has a nice groovy vibe to it, our room was clean and was street level, noisy but we did not mind, came here to soak in the nightlife. Staff was friendly and helpful with the local...

Great stay. very close to the hustle and bustle of Frenchmen. Loved the music and art that surrounds the hotel; staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel ONLY if you are looking to engage in the nightlife that Frenchmen offers.

I LOVED staying at the Frenchmen Hotel! It had so much character. I loved how quaint the rooms were and how cozy they were! It wasn't a huge commercialized hotel- I felt like it was made for me and allowed me to immerse myself into the culture of New Orleans. The pool was so enjoyable. It was the perfect temperature...

I would use them again in a pinch. To say it was allstar weekend and the first weekend ramping up to mardi gras you really couldn't beat the price. Yes there were a few cosmetic details that could be worked on, like there was no interior security door chain or lock. The floors had a few debris and dust spots...

Very nice place. Close walking distance to French Quarter, Tram and night clubs. WiFi was good but take your own computer. The one in the lobby is so old it would not connect to the Internet. Breakfast was a bit sparse, Danish, fruit and yogurt. Some boxes of cereal would have been nice.

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
