Very well and centrally located in the French Quarter, and also very quiet - if you don't count the early church bells. Has some charm, and room was large and clean, though smells of mildew as you enter. They forgot to make up our room one day, but otherwise no complaints. The room had character, though the wallpaper was starting...

Our group has stayed at this hotel during many visits to New Orleans and we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. Rooms are unique and beautiful and clean. The staff couldn't be more helpful.

My wife had read about ghosts in the hotel but never thought we would leave with our own story. Great place to stay, you will not find a better location. Staff had the friendly southern attitude and always spoke to us whether coming or going. The maid service is spotty but everything else was way above average for a French...

After deciding NOLA was our wedding destination, the task of picking a hotel became daunting. We needed a place for our guests to stay (small, private wedding) as well as a location that met our needs for the ceremony. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of Place d'Armes! The entire staff, from management to front desk to custodial,...

Stayed for 10 days surrounding the annual French Quarter fest, this was our fourth time there at this hotel. The staff as usual was very friendly and helpful. Since we do not spend much time in the room we always request an interior room,we also start every day with fresh pastries and coffee in the charming and relaxing courtyard. If you...

I wish I could give this hotel a higher rating and I probably will when I stay there next year. However I will request a room with a window. I had read from many other travelers about the rooms without a view. Yes they were correct - it's just not that great. But this place is worth it alone for...

We enjoyed the hotel very much. Nice, outdoor pool. Pretty courtyard to sit in, read a paper, have a drink & relax. Great location! the staff was very friendly & very helpful. We got an INCREDIBLE deal on our room b/c it was summer & we booked it way in advance. Very basic continental breakfast was included.

We stayed here for 2 nights in March 2012. The hotel was full of character and the perfect location for exploring the French Quarter. We had no problems walking back late at night from Frenchman Street. Our room was small and basic, but this was fine as we weren't planning on spending much time in it. The bathroom was also...

This is one of the coolest hotels I've ever stayed at. It has so much character! It's located right in the French Quarter, steps from Jackson Square. The rooms have exposed brick and amazing details and the staff is friendly and helpful, especially considering the hotel is so budget-friendly. Our room assignment was mixed up, and our bell-hop literally ran...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
