This isn't an impeccable 5 star property but an old residence that is showing its age. If you need a *perfect* room like you would find at the Hyatt, Hilton or Sheraton this hotel isn't for you. If you like a little flavor in life then by all means stay at the Hotel Villa Convento. The location couldn't be better...

This is a decent hotel with a great location in the Quarter. less than a ten minute walk from Jackson's Square and only a short walk to the French Market. The price really cant be beat for the location. Room was clean if a bit dated. and Overall a great place to spend a weekend.

If you were around in the '60's, or have ever listened to oldie stations, you will recall hearing the classic "House of the Rising Sun" a haunting rock song belted out by Eric Burden and the Animals. It is a gritty and moving chronicle of life in an old New Orleans bordello--and today you can stay in that very same...

We wanted an authentic New Orleans hotel, to stay somewhere that you knew you were in NOLA instead of being in any city in America. The hotel is obviously an old house but that is part of the charm. The view from our balcony was incredible, we could see the sun rise over the old convent and set over the...

So much charm in this little hotel on the edge of the French Quarter and right across the street from a great breakfast cafe. The staff was so nice and helpful, giving us restaurant and tour advice. The only downside was the bed was a little uncomfortable and the air conditioner was little loud, but the price was great and...

Hotel Villa Convento is continuously my favorite place to stay in the French Quarter. The staff is amazing and they'll become your new friends just like Villa Convento will become your home away from home. The hotel is charming and an old mansion. The staff constantly gives you great food selections and ways to make New Orleans a more personal...

Thanks to Warren, Barbara and all the staff for making our honeymoon fantastic! With the restaurant recommendations, the lovely room with the best view of the quarter, the front office chats over coffee; they all made us feel so much at home, we didn't want to leave.....so we extended our trip by 3 nights which they accommodated us for as...

When we arrived at the Villa we were met by Warren who was very helpful, and let us know of the parking situation. We didn't think it to big a deal, but did suggest a pic-up driver would be nice. Walking the French Quarter is most common as we discovered and not a problem for us and if you come to...

Arrived early to be greeted by friendly Barbara. She's very nice and told us of some great bars north of the quarter, just a few blocks away, that had wonderful music. Room was downstairs, beautiful quaint courtyard outside. The room could use a little fixing up, but who cares. It was clean and in a Great location, a tad North...

If you get an upgrade you will be smiling for days. What fabulous rooms with balconies. Perfect location and such a friendly staff!!!! Loved being in my ghostly room. I'm writing a book with spirits and this one had a trickster boy ghost! I will come back in a heartbeat...maybe with my bf.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
