Great location, and staff. The parking garage off site is a short hike and can get confusing so follow the directions they will provide you. Our room was upstairs and was a half loft shared with friends. The room was clean and adequate for our needs. Nothing special but we didn't go there to stay in the room or lounge...

Pros: Location was perfect for walking to Bourbon Street, Cafe du Monde, and all around the French Quarter; staff was friendly and helpful; our room was clean; and it has lots of NOLA charm (you can listen to ghost tours from your balcony) BUT... I was too nervous to enjoy the balcony bc it felt soft and unstable; the elevator...

The Hotel VIlla Convento is centrally located in the Quarter and a short walk to just about everywhere unless you want to go west of the Casino. But the French Market is one way and Bourbon Street the other with Jackson Square close by too. So it's fun there get beignets and a muffaletta at Central Grocery . The room...

No frills but a comfortable room at a great price in one of the best possible locations in the French Quarter. Balcony rooms on a small street off the beaten path but a very short walk to the French Market.

Great location, easy walk to everything in the French Quarter and the Frenchman's Street music venues. The hotel is a historic building (1800's), family run for 3 generations. The staff is very friendly. Limited, secure parking available nearby. If you're looking for modern conveniences, stay in one of the big chain hotels. The rooms are basic. Some rooms have very...

Very authentic looking. It's a very basic & minimalist room but we weren't there to hang out in the room, it was really just a place to sleep & shower. In saying that the bathroom could use a bit of work, but can't expect 5* for the price. Close to everything, but quiet location. Great staff, had a balcony room...

If your looking for a 5 star luxury hotel don't stay here . But if your looking for a very clean room in the center of the French Quarter at a very good price this is it !! A cool old place with some neat history. Also has a parking garage. We would definitely stay here again

Understanding that this is only a two star hotel, the rating is for room decor, cleanliness, comfort and friendly staff. There is a hair dryer and iron in the room. 9x15 living area excluding bathroom. Walk in shower. Nice size balcony. Two blocks from the French market. About a 10-15 minute walk to the busy section of Bourbon Street. TLC...

Its old and funky, kinda shabby, but quiet and clean and close to everything. They are currently renovating too though. If you want the Marriott go stay there. This place is a bargain and right in the middle of everything.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
