Really nice people work here. Jawanda checked us in, and she could not have been nicer. She gave us some restaurant recommendations that were spot-on. She referred us to the concierge, Billy, who gave us a map and also made some restaurant recommendations. Billy was very helpful and, like Jawanda, very nice. When we got off the elevator at our...

Great stay at the Intercontinental. It's in the business district so a quieter area but easy 5 minute walk to the French Quarter and all the bars and restaurant. Room was clean, and the staff were friendly. The reason I'm only giving it 4 stars is because they charge $43 per night for the valet / parking service. Quite overpriced,...

We chose The Intercontinental for our first trip to New Orleans to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We relied on TA reviews and made our choice based on location, price and service. However, we made a mistake by using I C's 800 number to make our reservation. We requested a balcony room with a street view. Upon arrival we were given...

IHG does it again. Every Intercon we stay at provides the best in service and accommodations. The staff is very friendly and our room was spacious. Couldn't ask for a better location in Downtown. It was a short walk from the Riverwalk and French Quarter.

Lovely hotel with great access to French Quarter, Central Business District and Convention Center. Service was excellent overall. The few glitches (no glasses for the minibar, needing extra towels for two guests) were quickly remedied. Beds were comfortable and I loved the lemon verbena toiletries. Definitely would stay here again.

Great property and staff. From the GM to the door man everyone was helpful. Room was very clean. They also have a great restaurant right off the lobby. Easy walk to the French Quarter or hop on the street car.

We had a fabulous stay last weekend at the Intercontinental. It was my second stay in the last 2 months and both visits were excellent. The check in process was quick and easy and the staff was very polite & helpful. Rooms are spacious, clean, and the bed is one of the best hotel beds I've slept in. So comfortable!...

Stayed at the InterContinental for one night pre-cruise in December. The hotel is clean, modern and the staff are very helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious with comfortable beds. Good dining close by especially Luke across the street. Short walk to the French Quarter and Marigny.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
