We've stayed here more than a few times now over recent years and have not had a bad experience yet. Great staff. Great location. Close to the French quarter, superdome, Saenger theater, and the CBD. Absolutely love the rabbit ragout at Dominica and also the Sazerac Bar. My only complaint is some rooms can be a little small. Still when...

Just returned from several nights at the Roosevelt. While we generally stay there when we visit Nola, we have never stayed there during the holidays. The lobby was decorated for Christmas and was beautiful. Very nicely done and is a winter wonderland. The only downside is the number of people who are standing around admiring all the finery can lead...

As a child, my parents would stay here and splurge on the Dinner Show in The Blue Room and relax at The Sazarac Bar. Upstairs in our room I would listen in on the live radio broadcast on WWL from The Blue Room envisioning lovel people dancing the night away to the sounds of Dorsey, or Miller, or Goodman. Still...

I stayed here 6 nights for business in December. The hotel was all decked out for Christmas which looked pretty awesome and even had a nice smell of pine trees. It was quite an attraction so a lot of not staying at the hotel would be the lobby taking pictures and such. At checkin I got an upgrade to a...

The Christmas decorations take your breath away! Our 2-day last minute stay was perfect from check in, housekeeping, dining, bar, gift shop. Too many thoughtful, extra details to mention. The courteous, helpful staff are well trained and friendly over and above the norm. They have captured the essence of a simpler, refined era so well. Cudos to management.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
