Great location, lots in walking distance. Friendly, helpful staff. Complimentary breakfast is a bonus with good coffee! Eco-friendly lighting in room was very dim. Especially liked the courtyard with pool for the evenings after long day of walking.

My husband and I spent two nights in one of the King rooms located in the Carriage House. Room and bathroom were very small but we definitely felt like we were in Old New Orleans. Our room wasn't ready until around 3:30. It would have been nice if we could have used our 2 free drink tickets while we waited...

Our main concern was the policy of cleaning the rooms late in the day. Very hard to clean up and get out for a dinner at six. The pool is small with very little room around it. All staff was very helpful. Breakfast for free was the same as a thousand other places we have stayed in. Would not return.

Almost everything about this hotel was perfect. The staff was friendly, helpful, generous and had some great suggestions. The Valet/Concierge staff were so nice, helpful and generous! The location was amazing, being only two blocks from Bourbon Street and only a few more from the river, but it was very quiet and peaceful. Having parking in the hotel was a...

My sister and I stayed 4 nights at the Dauphine Orleans, which I booked online after reading some reviews. It's not fancy or full of character, but the facility and the room were clean, the beds very comfortable, and the staff very helpful. I was surprised and pleased to find a full breakfast included with the room. We liked the...

We had a room with a balcony on the street side, and enjoyed drinking the complementary champagne for my wife's 40th birthday on it. Not recommended for light sleepers though; it is very noisy 24h/d, especially because the balcony door had lots of gaps (the building is very old). Very friendly and helpful staff. The missus is convinced she saw...

I booked this hotel through TripAdvisor in the last minute. I stayed in the Hermann Cottage which is across the street from the main hotel. This is not a modern chain hotel; it is part of the French Quarter style and extremely convenient if you want to be in the FQ. It also means you accept the noise that comes...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
