My girlfriend and I spent a couple of nights here end of June after dropping my son off for camp in Madison. We were both kid free and what a fantastic way to celebrate our time alone together! First - the grounds are amazing. There is a llama and sheep and chickens and the owner's dog - Happy. There are...

I've been to The Speckled Hen Inn twice now, and it's been excellent both times. We stayed in the Starkweather Creek room a few weeks ago, which is roomy and has an actual fireplace and a private balcony (which we utilized to watch the sunset and drink wine). The Inn itself is on a beautiful piece of property with a...

Thank you for picking us as “the best place to stay in Madison”. That is quite a complement and is really appreciated. I am glad that you found us “gregarious” yet “unobtrusive”…balance is everything. We so enjoy meeting guests like you; it makes it all so worthwhile. Please come back. Bob and Pat

My husband and I spent a wonderful getaway weekend at The Speckled Hen Inn. We arrived in the mid afternoon, we were welcomed by Pat and bob's assistant who showed us our room, (and which by the way makes wonderful cookies!) Our room was comfortable with a fire place, a large bed and a lovely bathroom with a large tub....

We are pleased that you enjoyed your getaway weekend. We are pleased that you noticed the likeness of the Inn to the countryside of the United Kingdom. In our previous life, Pat and I spent a lot of time in Yorkshire, England, and it has always influenced our “style”. We are glad that you felt “at home”. Thank you for...

The owners of this B&B put a lot of care into this place. Breakfasts are fresh, using ingredients from the farm (cherries this weekend). Pat & Bob were great - gracious, funny, genuine. The room was very comfortable -- though if you are not an early riser (or a light sleeper), I think you need to be very careful. Walls...

Thank you for staying with us. We are glad that you enjoyed the “care we have taken with our place” and with our hospitality. We truly enjoy sharing our property with our guests. We are sorry for the alarm in the room next to yours, not many of our guests get up at 6 am. The person in the adjoining...

We just loved our time at the Speckled Hen Inn. Bob was right there to answer any questions about the Inn, the gardens, all the animals. We quite enjoyed our relaxing stay there. The Madison Lakes room was such a treat - - spacious and quiet, upscale digs. Breakfast was a huge affair. Expect your gourmet appetite and sweet tooth...

We are glad that you enjoyed the “farm-to -table” breakfast. We enjoyed growing and preparing it for you. So local, that in fact, most ingredients “have the same address”! We are glad to be “green” and “sustainable” and really enjoy sharing our practices with those who appreciate it. We will give your regards to “Llily Llama”. Come again, and thank...

I have already reserved a room for our second stay at The Speckled Hen. The experience was better than any lodging experience I have ever had. The room was amazing and the grounds were beautiful. Pat and Bob were the most gracious hosts. The breakfast was delicious and served in a beautiful dining room with windows overlooking the farm. Happy...

Just on the outskirts of town, the Inn sits in its own farm, with extensive gardens and nature trails. They rear sheep and a single llama as well as keeping their own chickens. This despite being a quarter of an hour from the Capital Building. We had three delightful days at the inn. Pat and Bob look after every detail....

We are glad that the Inn blew you away. The “privacy” aspect is a big feature. Unlike so many Bed and Breakfasts, the Inn has only 2 rooms on a floor and each level has its own lounge. Chances are that you will not even see another guest during your stay. We socialize at breakfast, but private dining can also...
