Had a wonderful time here spending the night on New Year's Eve. The experience was everything I hoped for and more. A gorgeous, spacious home--yet very charming and intimate. Peggy made us feel very welcome and she provided excellent recommendations on local attractions and restaurants--but one of the best meals we got was the meal Peggy and her staff provided...

We spent 2 nights in the Lake Mendota room. The room is pleasantly decorated, comfortably furnished, spacious, and clean. The breakfasts were very good and accommodated vegetarian and dairy-free requests. The owners, Peggy and Dave, are friendly, helpful, and gracious. The experience exceeded our expectations for a relaxing weekend getaway.

I heard about the Livingston Inn from a friend who has stayed there several times, and after visiting for a night in October, I can understand the appeal. The house is gorgeous inside and out, and it was an easy walk to the farmers' market, wonderful restaurants and other attractions near campus and the State Capitol. Peggy and Dave were...

We're very happy to hear you enjoyed your anniversary getaway at our B&B and the various little special items we offer to our guests. Breakfast conversations are always interesting here, so we're glad you had that experience as well. Many thanks for your review! Warm regards, Peggy and Dave

I went to the UW 20-some years ago, but never much explored the Livingston's neighborhood, and what a gorgeous, delightful area it is! Can't say enough about the beautiful house and Peggy and Dave's super-friendly, super-helpful hospitality. Our room--the former maid's quarters--was a lovely, spacious, quiet suite. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. The night before we thoroughly enjoyed a newer...

Two nights in October during Homecoming, but we were in town for a wedding. Our room was quirky and charming, with a gas fired stove that made it toasty and delightful (the temperature was in the 40s during our visit - yikes). We enjoyed breakfast (fritatta, freshly made breakfast-type bread, fresh fruit, biscotti, etc.) with the other guests. Another couple...

We had an wonderful experience staying at the Livingston Inn. It is an amazingly beautiful place wonderfully restored by Peggy and Dave. An awesome location for anyone that is familiar with Madison, situated on the isthmus between Lake Mendota and Lake Menona, just walking distance to the Capitol and many top rate restaurants, as well as hip and trendy places...

The Livingstone Inn is a reminder of why it is so more enjoyable to stay overnight in a B&B compared to a hotel. Peggy is a welcoming host and offers complimentary wine, beer, and evening chocolates. The rooms are spacious, clean and very quiet. The location is perfect for getting around town and onto the campus. There is a bike...

We only stayed one night on our way from St Paul to Chicago but Peggy was extremely generous with her hospitality and her time. (We didn’t meet Dave.) The extra treats, such as the availability of wine and beer, and chocolates in the hall later, made us feel very pampered. Peggy’s suggested restaurant for a light meal (Forequarter in the...

This is an extraordinary vintage home in Madison, tastefully decorated, and staying here was an absolute pleasure. Our room was comfortable, and there were so many thoughtful touches throughout the inn, like a decanter of fresh water in the room each day, a plate of chocolates in the front hall each night. Breakfast was well prepared and delicious. Guests breakfasted...
