We went during a off season storm period this January and therefore we weren't really able to enjoy the views that this hotel has to offer, we were very much in the clouds! However we were still able to enjoy the grounds and walk among the surrounding tea plantation, it was so peaceful. I don't know if we were upgraded...

I personally hate a tourist trap, and this place is very much for tourists only but I absolutely loved it! It's a 5 star place with beautiful rooms, great service and a welcome luxury after guest houses and jungle lodges for a week prior! The decor and ambience is spot on for the colonial experience it wants to give you....

This hotel is like a step back in time, it has been beautifully restored but still has the feel of the old tea factory. The rooms are small but cosy and welcoming. When we arrived it was quite cold and to have carpet and heating was lovely. The food wasn't too expensive, we ate from the al a cartel menu...

Wow! Me and my wife have returned from a fantastic stay in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and one of the stand out experiences was dinner in the carriage at the Heritance tea factory. Not only is this a fantastic hotel with unbelievable views, but there is an option (on a very limited basis) to have dinner in the carriage...

Set at the top of a mountain surrounded by tea plants it looks like what it was, a tea factory! Step inside and you realise how well it has been converted to a quirky and unique hotel while maintaining and recycling many of the original features. Good food plenty of choice. We were unprepared in the morning to open our...

The best two things about this Hotel are its stylish and comfortable smoking bar where nobody actually seemed to be smoking despite being provided with a cigar cutter and a box of matches, and the wonderful fine dining option in an old railway carriage moored at the rear of the hotel. There are only four tables, each big enough for...

I was expecting a really luxurious hotel with a great spa. I got a very quirky and interesting hotel with a spa I took one look at and left. It was nice to see the tea and be in the misty mountains but for me I'd skip it. My friend enjoyed the zen element of the location. So it depends...

Fantastic stay in one of the most original hotels in the country. Staff were amazing from start to finish they are the heroes of this hotel. We were greeted with warmth and all staff happily addressed any question we had and offered advice when they saw we needed some help. We had a lovely tour of the little tea factory...

Two nights spent at this unique hotel as part of our Sri Lankan tour. Certainly worth a visit as completely different to anything we had seen. Worth doing the nature walk as informative and a great opportunity to photograph the ladies picking tea. Overall a lovely experience in a tastefully converted tea factory. Bear in mind it is isolated and...

The road from Nuwara Elia to this hotel is steep, unpaved winding and potholed so it takes about 40 minutes. It is absolutely worth the effort, as the hotel is unique and looks amazing as you approach it. We stayed on the fourth floor facing the front and loved the view and the room. (Be warned that the shower is...
