This lovely guesthouse has a very open, glass and wooden dining/common area with a fire place. It looks out over the golf course and is absolutely lovely. The food was good, staff very helpful. The owner was around but had no interaction with guests (busy entertaining friends?). We took a room upstairs, which was large and clean. The bed was... More

Interesting vibe as soon as we arrived. Nice surrounding overlooking the golfcourse, we were booked into the room underneath the main dining area, the one with a stream running beneath it. As we were to discover, the damp seeps through the walls, and that room hangs heavy with damp. Questionable bed linen, unswept floor, we overlooked these things for the... More

King Fern is an extremely cosy and comfortable place in the chilly hills. Main things are the vibe and the great staff, as well as the food - Do yourselves a favour and check out King Fern! Lisa and Keith

This place is awesome. We stayed an extra night because it's so good, particularly the king size bed with the pleasant stream water noise in the background. If you are a chicken curry fan, you owe it to yourself to stay here. Best I've ever had. Very helpful staff who will get you where you want to go.

We wanted to stay for 3 three days but we didn't booked because of low season. To bad for us because the all the rooms were fully booked. We stayed for dinner though, and it was very good. Nice and relaxed atmosphere.

This place is really very cozy and nice. Rooms were very clean and with a balcony. Common room with restaurant is a very nice place to be in the evening. The combination of wood and green nature is vey calming. Food and service was also very good. The owner helped us picking up from Nanu Oya and renting also a... More

Free pickup from the Nanuoya station which is fantastic as the station is a zoo. Lovely hot tea in the lounge area upon arrival at the cottage. The owner is a friendly guy, happy to please but is clearly very business savvy. The place itself appears magnificent, all wood and glass, very bright and surrounded by trees but it's cold... More

We arrived in the rain and dark and were welcomed very warmly. The lounge was very nice and comfortable with carpets and a fireplace. We had a nice dinner there and felt really well taken care of. It also has a really nice atmosphere in the evening with nice music. But 2 points minus: the rooms are really dark and... More

We stayed at king fern for three nights in early September. I emailed and called before hand to arrange stay. Unfortunately whilst the manager kindly text me whilst I was on train to ask my arrival time, I didn't see it so wasn't aware of the free shuttle from rail station. On arrival we found the place to be lovely,... More
