Amarta truly lives up to its name as a beach retreat! This is a beautiful place with excellent facilities. Our room was luxurious, clean, and scenic with an ocean view - they brought us breakfast and coffee on the porch every morning! The restaurant is delicious, we especially loved the jackfruit curry and the fresh juices, which they delivered to us by the pool. The spa is lovely, very nice and skilled staff and a great variety of treatments, including couples! The main pool, which is a truly spectacular infinity pool overlooking the ocean, was under construction during our stay, so they gave us 50% off of all spa treatments, which was a very nice gesture that we DEFINITELY took advantage of! In addition, there is another awesome infinity pool on the premises, this one with three separate spaces and plenty of chairs and umbrellas for relaxation. The beach itself is also readily accessible; about 20 steps from the restaurant and you're on empty, clean, black sand beach as far as the eye can see! The waves are very rough so you can't swim, but it's perfect for nice long sunset walks. This is also a great location for sightseeing/tourism; we had a nice driver pick us up from our previous hotel and take us around to various places, including Tanah Lot, Batukaru, Pura Bratan, and more! Lastly, the staff at Amarta are incredible, so friendly, welcoming, and hospitable - they truly made our honeymoon stay more wonderful that we could have imagined!

I had such a restorative stay at Amarta and hope to be able to return there again some day. I stayed in an Ocean Jacuzzi Suite which are located above the restaurant. I loved being able to lounge around on the veranda. There was a very comfortable day bed and the jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi functions more as a small pool as there isn't enough hot water to fill it. It takes over an hour to fill so I was happy to leave it full over a few days. One thing to note for these rooms is that at night, the silhouette of people showering is visible through the frosted glass from people below.
I didn't leave the resort for the 5 nights I stayed there and enjoyed the food from the restaurant for meals either in the restaurant or in my room. The breakfasts were very generous and delicious. I enjoyed a massage at the spa. The sunsets each night are stunning.

The ocean view bungalow where I stayed was spaceous, clean and comfortable, with great views from the verandah. The food is good, staff is extremely attentive and helpfull. This is a wonderful place! It is a 2 hours drive from Denpasar and approx 2.5 hours from the airport, but worth the drive if you look for a peacefull place to recharge.

The food really wrecked this resort for us, and did not befit the excellent food we have had across several holidays to different places in Bali. It also did not befit this lovely resort and its staff. Everything else was great
But the food!... there are no other options in the immediate area, We had to cut our trip short. Refunded the food, but not the room
We had ten dishes and would rate them 2/10 on average. These included cold spaghetti, stale pastries, unnecessary chopped up chillis in the carbonara, oily disgusting chips?!
The port-a-cot was broken, and had no mattress, so was useless for our toddler.

We have just had the most relaxing three day stay at the Amarta. Staff are beautiful, grounds are lovely, pools are great. Nice black beach to walk along every morning. Perfect spot for the sunset. Highly recommend for a few days of down time. It gets busy on the weekends with day passes and people riding motorcycles on the beach so we would come during the week when we stay again.

Our family holidays are in the Amarta Retreat. A beautiful Balinese set up flanked by the Indian Ocean and paddy fields. Located in the middle of villages, a place to reakky have retreat and family bonding. Nice clean chalets and well set up to view the sea. Two infinity pools and a children pool. Good food and friendly service. The whole family enjoyed our stay.

Amazing gardens, awesome room with comfortable bed. Loved the two infinity pools, the beach view and all meals at restaurant were excellent. Friendly and helpful staff who also provided us time at the on site spa which was fantastic. Would definitely come back for a relaxing few days here again. Thanks again, Josh and Priscila
