Everything at Bali Eco Stay is an invitation to stay longer ;-) I was meant to stay one night but as soon as I arrived and put my bags in the room, as soon I knew this would not be my only night... and only stay. I immediately changed my plan and extended for another night. The energy in this place is unique.

Also, in this difficult times, they offer special deals and this considered, it would be a shame not to take advantage of it. The value becomes unparalleled.

This is a true Eco Resort and everything is made around the permaculture project. They have their own garden (that add something very special to the culinary experience). They harvest most of the food products for the restaurant. Only a little part of what they cannot grow is purchased from local producers.
The staff are regularly trained by an experienced chef and you can see how that reflects in all the dishes. It's fresh, tasty, original and with beautiful presentation.

The onsite spring water is filtered and used the restaurant, shower etc and the river that runs through provides part of the energy to the lodge. It's a high quality pure mineral water.

The rooms are all with different arrangement and view (waterfall, river, rice field etc.) but the all have in common the full amenities that you could expect at this level. I really liked the interiors. It's a very comfy and pleasing setting that feels like being in a friend's place with great taste and sense of hospitality.

It's a place to unwind and relax, meditate and re-connect with oneself and the nature. There also are some excursions and walks around the place. It's amazing how this place combine the feeling of being surrounded by nature, they have their own natural cooling water fall that makes you feel you are in the middle of the jungle, and 5 minutes from there, you get to an opened and panoramic view on rice fields. Such a perfect balance of the two.

So, now, I'm only counting the few days that separate me from my next stay there.

Highly recommended, especially for those staying in Indonesia while the borders are still closed.

Let me start with that I would highly recommend this awesome gem in the middle of nature!!

Everything at Bali Eco Stay is just amazing!! I was shocked by the beauty of nature, the impressive views, the perfect little ‘threehouses’ build in a way that you are one with nature! The energy in this place is really unique.

I was meant to stay two night but as soon as I arrived I felt soooo relaxing that I stayed another night (very happy that this was possible).

This is a true Eco Resort and everything is made around the permaculture project. They have their own garden (that add something very special to the culinary experience), were they will give you a tour and explain everything, super interesting!! They harvest most of the food products for the restaurant. Only a little part of what they cannot grow is purchased from local producers.

The food at the restaurant is just beyond, it's fresh, tasty, original and with beautiful presentation.

The onsite spring water is filtered and used the restaurant, shower etc and the river that runs through provides part of the energy to the lodge. It's a high quality pure mineral water. That you can also drink, so cool!

The rooms are all with different arrangement and view (waterfall, river, rice field etc.) I stayed next to the waterfall and the sound at night it is just too relaxing! I had 3 nights with perfect sleep, really loved all the nature sounds!

Bali ecostay is perfect to unwind and relax, meditate and re-connect with oneself and the nature.
You can also do some excursions and walks around the place. It's amazing how this place combine the feeling of being surrounded by nature, they have their own natural cooling water fall that makes you feel you are in the middle of the jungle, and 5 minutes from there, you get to an opened and panoramic view on rice fields. And if you fly with a drone you can see it is all surrounded by mountains! Such a perfect balance of all bali best nature!

And than the staff!! Wow!!! Incredible friendly, this is how hospitality should be! What a passion they all have for this eco stay! My compliments!!!

Thanks very much for these perfect days! I will come back 🙏🏼

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights during a 3 week trip to Bali and this place was definitely the best place we've stayed if not the best place I've ever stayed. The location is incredible, isolated away from the hustle and bustle making you almost forget about what else is going on in the world (we cut short our trip due to the Coronavirus, which we almost didn't because of this place).
Simple but unique bungalows that open up into beautiful natural surroundings.
We purchased The Couples Getaway Package which included 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners - I'd recommend the slow-cooked chicken to share, the best meal I had in Bali, all the meals here were amazing with most the ingredients coming from the surrounding area. We also got a nice and interesting guided tour of the area, an hour massage each in an open bungalow, a cooking class in which we prepared our lunch for the day included in the package. We also did the wood carving activity as an extra which was fun.
The owner and all the staff were great, all so friendly and helpful making it such a pleasure to stay here. They arranged our transport to and from the Eco stay which is needed as it's off the beaten track.
Couldn't rate Bali Eco Stay highly enough, this place is reason enough to go back to Bali.

An amazing 2 night/3 day stay in beauty and nature. After the hustle and bustle of Ubud, it was like arriving in a dream location. Green ++, clear drinkable water from a spring, a stream and waterfall to swim in, hiking, relaxing, great food and kind attentive staff. We enjoyed our comfortable private open-air bungalow with the birds and the stream as the only sounds. Recommend going on a guided walk to learn more about the area and people. Bali eco stay is a treasure. We could easily have stayed longer.

HI Clhotchin, Thanks so much for taking the time to write us a review and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We have been so blessed to have this perfect hidden valley to create our sustainable permaculture resort with its rich volcanic soil and abundant spring water. Being able to position each bungalow so that they attract the cool mountain breezes so eradicating the need for air conditioners and even fans is another blessing. Looking forward to welcoming you back one day. Happy travels and all the best from all of us at Bali Eco Stay. Warm regards, John.

We had the "Springwater" bungalow and it was wonderful, the river was very close to relax in and cool off. The open-sided, natural structure of the bungalows was great! We bought the 'couples getaway' package which included all food. We are both vegan and the menu was a bit confusing but after talking to the staff, we found most things could be made vegan (even the chicken dishes!). The food was lovely and fresh!
We did a guided walk, the scenery was great and seeing the locals working in the rice fields was a treat. Our guide was knowledgeable but not very friendly (compared to the other lovley staff) and seemed a bit bored which was a shame.

I would certainly recomend Bali Ecostay to couples wanting to see a quite and unspoilt area of Bali!

This place is a heaven for those looking for solitude, clean and healthy environment.
Fresh mountain air, traditional farm with lots of fruit bearing trees, healthy foods from the restaurant, organic rice terraces and waterfall on the premises. We stayed at the rice water bungalow, 2 adults and 2 toddlers. The bungalow has two rooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds. Overlooking rice terraces with semi outdoor bathroom. John and his team are really friendly and welcoming. He greets and talks to each guests during dinner and provides a board games to bring to guest's bungalow. My kids enjoyed looking at the team preparing our meals at the restaurant's open kitchen, the spacious family room in the bungalow, they can run around and play board games that John provides to bring to guest's bungalow. True enjoyable ecostay.

This is a magical healing place held and created with a lot of integrity and respect to the land and the culture of Bali, which is a rare treasure. The waterfall itself is profoundly healing and drinking true clean deeply sourced water is a true gift in this modern world. There is also a sweet family/community vibe which makes it also a good option for a solo traveler, as you can have privacy and solitude and also feel really safe and connected with others.

I feel it takes a few days to settle into the deeper rhythm of restoration and slowness of this space, and recommend to stay at least one week, better 10 days. It can also take a day or two to adjust to being so immersed in nature, but once you do adjust you remember how essential it is to have that connection. And prepare for the best, longest, deepest sleep.

Swim in the waterfall between 11-2 and be enveloped in rainbows. Eat the rice paper rolls, the best. Make sure to also swim in the stream that runs through the property which has its own magic.

If you are familiar with the healing magic of true raw water, you will be immediately in love, and if you have not yet discovered this, you will experience it at Bali Ecostay.

A very special place that is frankly how tourism should be, and offers a really powerful and deep reset. I felt profound healing and remembering in my own system through connecting with the raw wild nature while held in a really safe secure well supported space with what John has created.

It's magic, go.

Some friends and I recently stayed at Bali Eco stay for a relaxing birthday weekend. I have been in Bali for 3 years and this is by far, hands down, one of my favorite locations to stay.

The location is stunning with views of the surrounding jungle and ocean off in the distance. The resort is fully sustainable with an epic permaculture design running through the entire property which provides a unique energy and cozy feeling. Although in nature the rooms and bungalows are pretty luxurious and have everything you need to feel at home and comfortable.

The Natural Spring water that runs from all the taps is some of the best I have tasted in Bali and the food is exquisite. staff were highly accommodating and friendly.

Johnny the owner is also super friendly and goes above to make sure all of his quests feel at home and are taken care of.

I will definitely be returning in the future.

My absolute favoutire place to stay in Bali, a short (beautiful and scenic) drive from Bali's main tourist centre is an amazing little paradise. We chose to stay here as they have strong beliefs set within the environment and the resort is nestled within the jungle and rice paddie fields.
We enjoyed the private waterfall on-site which also powers almost the entire resort!

Come and stay here if you really want to turn off, wind down and really experience the raw, beautiful nature and environment of Bali.

Highly recommend the salad and harvest bowls, like the rest of the menu, everything is hand picked from the gardens the morning you order it! Be sure to take a tour of the gardens and river to learn all about the permaculture they've set up.

We had such a fantastic stay (this is our second time around!) and can't wait to come back again!

We had the most beautiful long weekend in Bali Eco Stay. Well off the beaten track, and very carefully planned out with the environment and sustainability in mind. This is my dream resort!!
The food was incredible, and pre-planned to minimize food wastage, and to know that your food was harvested a few hours before means you can taste the freshness and the difference!
Be sure to go on a tour of the food gardens, rice paddies and permaculture project, we learnt so much and Kadek was happy to answer all of our questions.
We had a private plastic free picnic at our very own private waterfall, which was a dream come true.
John and his team run like a family, highly professional and everything was such a great standard. The rooms are all zero waste, no AC (we were in fact chilly!) and sleeping and hearing the trickling river and the rain in the garden was just delightful.
The yoga shala was free to use at any time, I had it all to myself every morning and the on-sight spa is highly recommended as well.

We stayed in the waterfall bungalow. There was 1 queen size bed upstairs and 2 full-size beds downstairs. It overlooks a waterfall and has plenty of space/privacy. Though I only stayed in the waterfall bungalow, I would recommend it.

Dear Gaby, in my opinion, Bali eco stay seems the right place. Water is from the river, food is organic (you can visit the garden), the massage place gives you the impression to be in the middle of the jungle, the owners have a strong respect for the nature, their workers. For instance, you order you plate a day before to avoid waste. There is not much to do, but relax and hike. Scenari is amazing. There is a yoga place as well. There are some options for biking but I haven't tried them. Bungalows are big and clean. You just have to be prepared that the night can be noisy as you are in the middle of the jungle. I personnally loved it but my son of 16 was a bit scared. I hope it helps. Bob

Hi, We welcome constructive criticism from our guests and take it seriously. We have implemented many points raised and are most appreciative. Where we have been unjustly critised we will simply put our side of the story and leave it to prospective guest to decide the outcome. Some people only like to read negative reviews but actually mostly we have fabulosly positive ones, due to the fact that everyone at Bali Eco Stay tries really hard to make our guests stay a unique experience.
