Sitting on a ridge overooking jungle beauty. Excellent food, enjoyable talks with our musician host, walks in nearby traditional village with friendly folks, reasonable rates. I loved my massage, our hikes, and the natural/isolated beauty. One issue- isolation means long taxi rides and some rough patches on the road. It's worth it. We had a beautiful, noisy rooster outside. oh,...

Stayed in this place by myself for 3 nights in March/April 2013 - absolutely great! Bali Mountain Retreat offers a place to really relax, in lovely calm and peace and quiet. The room I had was really gorgeous - big bathroom, lovely hot powerful shower, huge comfy bed and lovely decoration. Lovely touches like pretty folded towels and hot water/tea...

This place has it all and is a greatly recommended option for trvellers who wish to wonder off the beaten Bali path. - the original owner Richard, who can tell you all about the area - the beautiful garden, which is always very quiet - the ever friendly staff, who will do and bring everything you ask - the possibility...

Real hard to find, poor road, but good directions from the website. Real friendly staff, comfortable rooms, great location 700 m high. All services (bar, restaurant, massage, trecks, bikes,....) Real dive in a "true" Bali. Did the three hour jungle treck with the kids, a real feast ! Far from the crowds, a must do !

Our flight arrived in Denpasar and we exited the arrival hall around 10:15pm. The arranged driver was there with his sign as promised, and quickly escorted us to the vehicle. The 2 hour estimate on the drive was very accurate, mostly because the roads to get to BMR are pitiful shape once you turn off the highway east of Tabanan,...

For those who wish to truly relax. We were here in Feb and loved it. This was the most relaxing part of our holiday and food was great as well. Very quiet and stunning scenery. Way off the beaten track for Bali. Make sure you get their driver as this place is not easy to find. The guided walk and...

We enjoyed our stay at Bali Mountain Retreat although my partner was sick most of the 3 nights we spent here it was probably one of the best places to be stuck at. The grounds where pretty and has nice little tucked up huts on top of roofs great for reading and thinking. The food was fresh and made it...

The Bali Mountain Retreat really lived up to its name as a retreat. Among just a few guests when we arrived, we immediately felt the calm, relaxing feeling that this hotel vibrates. We stayed in a superior room, which was tastefully decorated, had a king sized bed, and a semi-outdoor bathroom. The food at the restaurant was excellent and the...

Richard and Rani are such welcoming hosts and my first visit to the yoga temple sealed the deal on relaxation and tranquility. Early morning sunrises and late afternoon viewing from the Birds Nest was a special treat - all in all a most relaxing place to forget the madness of modern living. The food lacks nothing and the friendly staff...

Follow the advise of BMR and let you pick you up to come to the Retreat. A driver who hasn’t been here before will get lost so nerves will avoid you to enjoy the splendid views on the road to BMR. The rooms, location, views are like promised on the website, the food in the restaurant is excellent and so...
