Been to Bali a fair few times over the years and like to try different hotels/resorts each time. First group holiday and 6 of our group (adult couples/family) booked to stay here almost a year ago. Me and the husband paid a bit extra for a pool view room. (The other two were a deluxe king and a standard at aud$50 less) We arrived early and check in was good as were able to facilitate the early arrival. The staff were friendly but were advised that not only was the restraunt closed for renos this meant the swim up bar was also closed - one of the reasons I extensively researched and booked here. We could get a few items (reduced menu) from kitchen for breakfast but not in restraunt. The extra paid for the pool view was a waste as our view was completely obscured by a massive frangipani tree. The tv was fuzzy and the roller door to the mini balcony was off it roller and the room was tired- the black around tiles/bath towel rail rusty etc and TV was fuzzy. The water pressure in my sons room was non existent. It was clean though. I was advised by the reception after speaking with them about no swim up bar / room that it was the quieter end of the hotel and that is the extra $. Well at 4am people were laughing and joking in the pool which wasn't the best sleeping experience we had. The pool also has no shade so was like a bath so probably why the other guests were in the pool after 10pm close as only time it would have been some what refreshing. Was disappointed with this stay and not being advised renos were going to be conducted and nothing was done about our complaints added to our disappointment unfortunately. (Although the roller door was finally fixed 2 days before we left to go to Sanur) the staff were lovely though.

Baleka resort hotel and spa is located about 10/15 min walk from the beach. It was located close to bars and restaurants. Our room was clean and bed was comfy. The shower wasn't great. The pool area looked clean, we didn't spend any time here but others did and appeared to enjoy it. We stayed here for two nights and it was quite inexpensive so we weren't expecting the hotel to be anything more than that.

First of all, Baleka is surprisingly bigger than I thought. I stayed here for 3 nights as Solo traveler. Location wise is quite good, 5-7 mins walk to Legian Beach. Check in process was smooth, staffs are quite friendly too. I like the lobby, it’s cute and has a cozy vibe. The room was clean and had a classic Balinese design. It’s an old hotel for sure, but they have a good maintenance imo. Too bad I forgot to take a pic. They provide basic amenities, which was good enough for me - bring your own body wash and shampoo, and water bottle can be bought at nearby Circle K.
The first night was kind of a mess since the AC suddenly off, however, they manage to fix it soon. Other than that, overall was enjoyable. They have 2 swimming pools, I didn’t get a chance to try - it was mostly raining during my visit (no worries though, they provide 2 umbrellas in the room).
They also have a restaurants (or pub or cafe, whatever you wanna call it) called Fat Buddha and That Burger Place. The food was great as well. Anyhow, recommended and worth of a price. You may check their IG for special deals.

Just stayed at baleka resort and can say I was very disappointed.
Have stayed there before the new owner took over and it was great however since the new owner has taken over it’s gone downhill.
When I was looking at where to book I seen on booking.com that I could book with no deposit at baleka however I decided to book with them directly and they advised me they required 50% deposit as they were nearly booked out.
I hesitated but paid the deposit on arrival at the hotel I noticed all the ground floor rooms were empty and the level I was on was empty apart from one other couple.

Every morning walking down the hallway I had to smell sewage which really put me of my meal.
I always tip cleaners in Bali however this was the first time I didn’t tip as the cleaning was not competent to say the least they failed to wipe down surfaces take dirty towels but not replace with new towels.
I complained and got told the manager would see me however never happened another lie from the staff members.
The wifi was non existent (first world problems I know) but when I rely on wifi for my business it’s not acceptable. Wifi was down for a whole day and other days it was out about 3-4 houres.
Lastly the fat Buddha restaurant way expensive for Bali 2 drinks 100k.
The staff were rude and overall a really bad experience. Keep in mind this is my review from last week and what I have experienced I will never stay there again plenty of other great hotels for the same price if not cheaper.

Really good value for the price! We stayed in a one bedroom studio (apartment) room 2107. It is quiet, spacious and has a decent size fridge with freezer (large bar fridge). The kitchen has bench space, a microwave and storage cupboards. We have a dining table for two (great for room service), day bed, bathroom with bath and separate shower. The decor is a little tired but you cannot expect the Ritz if you are paying under AU$100 per night. This really is a great budget hotel. The cheapest room will have some traffic noise, once again, for around AU$35 per night you would have to be pretty mean to criticise them for that. There are two pools with just a few pool lounges that people get rather possessive about. We didn't get a chance to use one, however, the pool area in general is very quiet (non-school holidays) so you can have a relaxing swim any time. Staff are very nice. The hotel can accommodate singles, couples and families. Small groups would also enjoy this. PLEASE, if you are very fussy, go elsewhere. We are seasoned Bali holiday makers and do not have high expectations. I feel really sad when I terrible criticism of a $50 hotel room and it happens all the time! If you want Australian standards you will need to pay over AU$100 per night.

Mixed review for the Baleka. Fantastic location walking distance to pubs and restaurants. Booked pool side access ,hand held shower over the bath but very low which made it hard to wash your hair. Room is right next to restaurant which has live bands every night that are very loud,at least the music stops at 11pm. The staff are wonderful very kind and friendly. Special mention to Fitria who made our stay very enjoyable great worker always with a kind smile.

First time staying here read some of the reviews so though my partner and I would try it.

As soon as we laid down we could smell a wet damp smell. So we contacted front office and after a 2 hour wait they sent someone to come clean the sheets. As they took the sheets off I couldn't believe my eyes the mattress was covered in black mold. We also checked the pillows and they had yellow stains on them and what looked like blood. After seeing this we asked to move rooms because there was no way we would be sleeping on that. We were shown 3 other rooms and inspected the mattress in the rooms and they were all the same it is absolutely disgusting. We complained to management and asked for a refund and still have not received it. The new owners there are extremely rude and unprofessional.
If you intend on staying there check the mattress before paying I garentee you will not stay there.

We arrived at night and our 13 year old daughters day bed was not made up so security staff had to make the bed. It was extremely uncomfortable for her and she had a terrible sleep every night. Hard pillow and mattress, I complained about the comfort but was ignored. Each day we were asked to pay for my daughter at breakfast and they had to check with reception every single day that she was included in buffet breakfast which was very frustrating. I had stipulated with The Baleka many times by email that she was holidaying with us and we had paid for her to stay. It was difficult to get a lounge chair by the pool as it was busy and most of the time they were taken so we did not have a relaxing time as we had planned. I had stayed here before and will not stay here again. Staff were unprofessional. We had an extra night booked and we didn't stay we just had a late check out so I wanted to gift the staff our buffet breakfast that we didn't use as we couldn't get a refund however the staff weren't allowed to eat breakfast with guests and had to use a breakfast box instead.

I emailed The Baleka direct July 2022 and requested their best room available for our stay in December. We were quoted $107 per night for a studio room. The room we were given was up an alley, not near the pool which we expected for the price. The air conditioner didn’t work, so after an hour waiting and requesting an upgrade by the pool, which we said we’d pay the extra if there was, but was told they were fully booked. They moved us to the worst room I could have imagined. The bathroom stunk of sewage, we had to keep the bathroom door closed and exhaust fan on 24/7. There was mould throughout the disgusting bathroom, and the pillows were rock hard.
The two days out of the 5 we paid for that we stayed, there was many pool side rooms vacant.
We decided to leave 3 days early and all of a sudden, they were asking us to stay, and what could they do for us to stay…..they had that opportunity the first day we complained. On speaking to another couple there, they had a similar experience. I’d NEVER stay at the BALEKA again, nor recommend anyone to either. Room number was in the 4000’s

We arrived in Bali on 29th May 2022 having booked in at another hotel that was extremely disappointing. After venturing out on our second night, we came across Baleka Resort Hotel & Spa (Fat Buddha Bar) and stopped in for dinner and watched the band - what a fabulous night. During this visit we met the owner, Scott, who is an awesome individual and very friendly. As we got talking, Scott invited us to visit the next day and check out some of their rooms - the rest is history!! We spent the remainder of our holiday at Baleka Resort Hotel and also know this will not be the last time we stay... Thanks to Scott and his amazing team!!
