Hubby and I ate lunch at the cafe fronting onto the street and walked through and found the hotel. Service at cafe was great and the lovely waitress brought us some cold face cloths as she could see we were very hot. We ordered iced coffees and a pizza to share. It was all tasty and brought out quickly. I’m glad we chose this place. It was our oasis today.

Had the pleasure of two stays here, 4 nights Early on in my trip then my last 8 nights too. I stayed halfway between the rear and front sections, great for a light sleeper.
Thoroughly enjoyed both stays and hope to return.
Bed huge and comfortable.
Walk in shower great.
Had cappuccino delivered to my room.
I preferred the front pool, close to the bar too.
Enjoyed breakfast with fresh fruit juices and awesome omelettes too. The staff were all amazing. Manager always helpful and never far away. Water pump and kettle in my room both stays as requested. Definitely Want to return. I suggest booking well in advance as lots of repeat guests that stay longer periods. Thank you everyone for making me feel like family and making my stay awesome. See you next time.

Lucky we only stayed one night, in standard room has NO fridge, No room safe, no chairs outside of room, the shower is right next to toilet so it soaks the toilet and the whole bathroom. The shower water goes from boiling to cold to boiling again. Sorry the standard rooms are shocking but pool access rooms looked okay and definitely worth paying a bit more for OR better still stay somewhere else, brekky was also crap 😖

Hi I maybe biased as been staying at Suriwathi for 30 years , However that should show you what a great place it is. Suriwathi is a hidden Balinese gem. The service from staff is always outstanding with nothing being to much trouble always making us feel like we are coming to our 2nd home, two great pools, close to beach, shopping and many great restaurants. I can’t wait to visit again soon.

Very warm welcome on arrival by all staff and management. The hotel General Manager was very engaging and a delight to chat to, almost like we were one of the family.

The stay was comfortable, beds sizeable and Villa 2 was very spacious. Easy private access for us as we shared our Villa Pool with only one other Villa and even they didn't swim anyway so essentially for us it was our own private pool.

The only room critisms would be that is, its dated being traditional Balinese style - dark due to the dark timbers used. The villa is rotting from weather and termites/white ants as well. There is 2 full bathrooms and 2 bedrooms which have interlocking doors....I'm not sure why as there is 1 main living area. Probably could have done with much more comfortable seating as the chairs had hard wooden upright backs with just a cushion for your bottom which has seen god knows what on them over the years. We put pool towels over them when we sat on them.

The TVs in the room were fine once we got a bigger one halfway through our stay. Entertainment wise there is a Google Box attached to it, theres no instructions so its work it out yourself really. Most apps don't seem to work so we opted for Netflix. The WiFi is free but has contsant dropouts every 2 hours or so, not sure if that is deliberate or just poor wifi, but it seems iin Bali all internet is average which is surprising given there is Fibre Optic everywhere.

Servicing and attention was fine, typical Bali style clean, just push the mop around and tidy but never really clean per se. Bed sheets were stained a couple of times which was a bit off putting.

Room service is available, however a system of collecting the trays afterwards is not a thing, we ended up putting ours back out on the pool side table but sometimes it'd sit there for a good half day, not ideal.

The breakfast every day in the restaurant was plentiful and tasty with offerrings such as cereals, toast, eggs (which are cooked on demand to your liking - omelette, fried, scrambled, poached), hot foods, pastries and bacon. Every morning they would rotate a hot meal selection such as Nasi Goreng, Katsu, Stirfry etc.

Restaurant had great meals, they offer 2 specialty nights (Aussie BBQ on a Friday night and Satay on a Wednesday night) but to be fair the Satay night I felt was a little pricey at $22AUD a head so we opted not to. The menu offerrings otherwise was very good. My only criticism was their pasta dishes....they did not make good pasta at all with the Ravioli being dry and tough as they fried it off and too much oil was on it so if the hotel is reading this please consider revising how you cook pasta as it should be light and fluffy for Ravioli in my experience.

Cafe attached - Warung Happy, is good for coffee, shakes, smoothies too and well priced. They also offer the same menu as the hotel restaurant.

All in all a great stay and very nice staff, would definitely stay again in the future.

We went for a cooking class 11 people and the staff were delightful, we all had a great time cooking four different things and then got to eat them too.
Our ages ranged between 9 and 70 and we all participated in the preparation and cooking of the food. The staff made sure that everyone had an opportunity to prepare and cook and we were all given the recipes and a laminated certificate of participation. Cost was 300,000 IDR which was fantastic value. You do not have to be a guest of the hotel to attend these classes

Our first visit to Suriwathi hotel and won’t be our last. Our room 48 was opposite the pool at the back. Room was clean, bed comfortable and shower water pressure good. Room service was delivered delicious, quick, hot and served with a smile. The option of water bottle and pump was great. Location amazing. A couple of things would be great to update is towels (they’re a bit old), a couch or chair in the room would be nice instead of sitting on the bed. We look forward to coming back.

Had the best relaxing stay here. From the moment you check in you are greeted by the manager Nyoman with lovely cold fruit juice. Our room was lovely with the bed and pillows so comfortable. Nyoman and his staff looked after us and treated us like family it was so nice, nothing was a bother at all. Everything is within walking distance. Bonito spa is part of their complex and Happy Warung. If you love coffee Happy Warung has the best coffee that I and my husband have ever had. Their breakfast too is awesome. Happy Warung is part of Suriwathi Hotel too. We had dinner lunch and Breakfast at the hotel every day and couldn’t fault it. They also have a money changer at the front desk that is so handy and very good rate. We didn’t want to leave and we will definitely be back.

It is so sad to see how this hotel has changed. Been staying at Suriwathi Hotel over 16 years. This time we lasted only 5 days and had to change hotels. Cats in the roof kept us awake all night and the smell of cats piss was unbearable. The front pool had broken tiles which is quite dangerous and the back pool was filthy. 1 positive is the breakfast had improved. This was our Bali home away from home for many years, sad to say we will not be returning.
