I stayed here for 6 nights in Nov 19. Many things were 'not quite right'. The first thing that happened is that no one was there. When I did find someone to let me into my room, I was greeted by the lovely cool air of the very good air con. The room itself was pleasant enough, but unfortunately, there was nowhere to put anything, because apart from the bed (comfortable with serviceable, if holey mosquito net) and a small table that came up to my knee, there was no furniture. I had expected at least a desk, as was quoted in one of the adverts. There were also some hooks on the walls. I moved the table and two chairs which were on the verandah into the room and borrowed a couple of coat hangers, so I had somewhere to put my clothes. Other things I put into bags and hung on the hooks. The towels, sheets etc were ok.

The bathroom was outside a back door, and is open air. It was pleasant enough, but had not been properly cleaned for a long time. At my insistence, someone came and gave it a good going over in the morning. They also remedied the toilet paper situation, and kept it topped up for the rest of the time.

The other things which were a problem for me were the lack of a kettle, a fridge (neither of which the had advertised anyway) and a safety box at reception (which they had said they had). They kept my valuables behind the reception area in the restaurant every time I went out. They are totally trustworthy.

The breakfasts are very good! I had a large plate of fresh fruit every day followed by a Spanish omelette and toast (or you could have Mie/Nasi Goreng) with a large cup of Bali coffee. A very good start to the day... the other meals in the restaurant were generally good to average, if a little pricey.

The hotel is in a very isolated location, about 2 km down a dirt road, but it is well worth the drive. It is one of the most beautiful spots I have seen throughout Indonesia, and the beach and National Park are pristine. A dive centre operates from here and most of the snorkelling trips from other hotels also go from here. Make sure you take the snorkelling trip - it is awesome.

The staff are very helpful and sweet, and from the local area. They are often a little unprofessional, but they are sincere and eager to please.

I would stay here again, but I would be staunch about getting everything right.

The whole area has a great feel about it. The actual White Sandy Beach itself is so surreal in that you can walk along the beach and have your choice of 10 or so Warungs to visit for a great fish lunch and excellent service. Just so relaxing and 'different;

Stayed 5 days. The location is only 200m from the Dynasty resort where we spent most days enjoying food and cocktails. If you're looking for a convenient location with the ability to enjoy resort amenities around the corner it's worthwhile. Staff here are friendly and very accommodating. The restaurant is average however we ate there purely to avoid cost/hassle of hiring a scooter to ride out. Bathroom is entirely outdoor and there is no hot water lukewarm water only. Best to shower before the sun goes down to avoid cold water. Room itself is clean and tidy with aircon and complimentary water bottles provided daily.

About our 2 weeks in paradise at The White Sandy Beach Menjangan resort !

If you want to experience the beautiful nature of Bali and meet wonderful Balinese welcoming, West Bali is the place to go. And The White Sandy Beach resort is The place to stay.
Located right at the boarder of the immense West Bali National Park, (the Taman nasional at Bali Barat), you will have the opportunity to trek fabulous rain/prime forests, to meet black monkeys, great dears, wild pigs or watch the (rare!) Bali Starling... And this is regarding the landscapes. Jump now into the waters, you'll have access to one of the world top class diving spots, all around the Menjengan island !
Beautiful nature, greatly preserved, fantastic to discover.
And The White Sandy Beach Menjengan resort is the ideal base to live this experience: first, this is the unique beach of white sand in the region; it is located in a lagoon, facing the wild nature of forests and mangrove; second, it features a sweet warung for delicious national dishes at very correct prices; third, 3 nice, clean and comfortable bungalows, right on the beach, equipped each with an outside "western" outside bathroom; and, last but not least, the "Pokmasta" dive center, from which you'll reach directly Menjengan island from your door ! Fresh new diving equipment, very pro local dive masters shall guide you to discover the best coral and fishes ever.
And all this led by a great staff, at your best service !
This white sand beach is historically the destination of the local people that like to gather there with their families on week ends to canoe and play with the available pedalos. A true authentic Balinese location ;)
And we discovered that, behind this resort, is the community of the close village of Banyuwedang, whose people are investing their funds to support their Project : to educate the local people to keep the Nature clean, and to save the Coral through transplantation. A great project that we contributed to by staying more than 2 weeks there. An additional reason to stay at The White Sandy Beach Menjengan resort !

First of all, as soon as we made the payment, they CLONED our credit card, spending around 1000 euros in one day.
As far as the hotel is concerned, we had to leave after two nights (paying the remaining nights) for the following reasons: a) it is located NOT ON THE SEAFRONT, but in a lagoon, where you can't bathe; b) the beach practically does not exist and the few meters of BROWN SANDS are dirty and badly maintained (also due to the fact that they are building another hotel in the same location); c) you need to take a boat to go the marine park and it costs around 45 euros for 4 hours; d) food was good the first night, but the second night the cook changed and it became awful and scarse, with almost everything on the menu finished; breakfast jam contained mold; e) staff doesn't speak English. When we decided to leave earlier, they asked us for the transfer to the nearby port a price which was four times higher the price that we paid when they picked us up two days before. It took 45 minutes to get the bill on checking out, but they were quick in cloning the card! To be avoided if you do not want to spoil your holidays.

All the staff are so kind and welcoming and it's a
beautiful place and even though there was a mix up with the accommodation they went out of there way to help us rectify the situation with the booking company and paid for us to move to a two coconut place next door. Thank you !!!

After having people talk up how great white sandy beach is we were looking forward to going there. When we arrived it was a let down. The beach is nothing like what is described in brochures and by tour operators. The sandy is more of a dirty colour mixed with black then white. The beach is covered in broken coral and the water is full of rocks for over half the length making it hard to go swimming. There are a few very basic warungs but I would not risk eating there as they look pretty dodgy in terms of hygiene when you actually have s good look. You will be charged an entry fee before you actually reach the beach and then be harassed by touts wanting to rent you a beach bed or sell you food. In all honesty I find it hard to say much good about the place.

Pros:
- good internet connection around the area
- clean and healthy shower room (it is an open-air typical kind of shower room with a lot of sunshine)
- comfortable and clean bed
- beautiful view from our room (103)
- simple but delicious food
- friendly staffs
- very easy to arrange a snorkeling tour or renting a motorbike
- electricity plugs on both sides of the bed
- table and two chairs

Cons: I cannot think any.. :-)

Beautiful beach where you can relax and drink cocktail is just 5 minutes away

We did check in in the evening. And totally not recommended. Because you have to drive in the meeting of forest. But I can say it still safe. Just follow the direction...and better coming during the day. When we stayed in this hotel. We dont want to go anywhere. When we arrive, we got friendly welcoming with the welcome drink brought to our rooms. And we enjoy the stars from our balcony, as they provide the table and seat on the balcony. Makesure you wake up in the sunrise time. My fav room is number 08. In the front and you can see the sunrise behind the hills. On the left side. Not really a sunrise but you can see the orange colors. You just walk 1 minute you will arrive in their simple restaurant and jump to the beach. No need boat for snorkeling. But if you want to explore the snorkeling around menjangan. Yes, we recommend to rent a boat. Dont worry about wave. There is no wave at all. So super safe for the kids, and play canoe. Will coming again for sure.

Very calm and relaxing place far from the crowded spots. A nice place which was bulit without damaging the nature around - this was well appreciated. We loved the mangrove trees around and the beach area as well.
