Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place but not for the light sleeping as the roosters just next door (and on the premises) will start as early as 2am and sometimes not stop until 7 or 8am… The place itself is great, the service is good, pool is good, yoga classes are nice, food is great and staff is very kind and helpful, but we also chose the place for getting a good nights sleep. After travelling in Malaysia, Sumatra and Bali for a month with new sounds to get used to at night in every place, this place has so far topped the list of stubborn roosters filled with Duracell batteries (keeps going and going and going). The cottages are nice but also very warm - especially the beds upstairs are hard to keep below 30 degrees Celsius even with the AC on.

Gorgeous boutique hotel. We stayed in the three bedroom villa. The location is perfect: directly on the beach where we could snorkelling directly in the sea very rich of beatiful coral and fish. The quite and easy to reach location is perfect for couple and families. The staff is excellent and is coordinated by Eca that is very professional. Very good the restaurant.

Room Tip: The sea in front is amazing no need to go to Lipah. Even the fisherman and their colorful boats...

This small hotel is lovely. About 5 cottages around a lovely small pool. Flowers everywhere and the beach steps away. The traditional cottages themselves are great and for families have fun sleeping lofts. Food is good and the service is very friendly. Only note would be to make the snorkeling process clearer for guests. We ended up have to bargain for snorkeling equipment on the beach which led to bad, unsafe equipment and endless sales pitches for days.

NEXT LEVEL BEAUTIFUL. This place is absolutely exquisite, artistic detail in every touch. Had the most lovely stay in the “perfumed garden” looking over the beach. the hotel is ON the beach in Amed ~ gorgeous waters ~ watch the fishermen go in and out of the sea every morning to catch the most delicious fish which is served in the excellent on site restaurant. I really enjoyed my time in the “perfumed garden” which is a stunning home you can rent overlooking the sea. 2 beautiful pools, gorgeous flowers / art everywhere you look. The restaurant is fresh and delicious and affordable. staff will go out of their way to help you book whatever tours / excursions you need. Oh and did I mention the yoga shala? STUNNING yoga space overlooking the ocean where you can workout / take one of the fantastic yoga classes offered. It was an absolute dream, I can’t recommend this place enough.

So glad we didn’t visit when smoking was allowed in restaurant area. Any smoke around a resort is bad for non smokers- a good policy! We found all staff attentive and friendly for the three days. The place is well kept and ok a few broken tiles around the pool but its Bali and prices are reasonable. Only one other couple so we had a private pool. We stayed in villa 8 right on the beach which wad spacious and clean. Dare I complain about waves keeping us awake or cockerels that need strangled .. it adds to the resort Local fishermen leave you to it. Pick up from airport perfect. Food was reasonably priced and ok. All in all a good choice for us to bring our mature daughter to Bali for her first visit. So natural so local and relaxed. Thank you all

Life @ Amed has been our first choice for accomodation since we watched it being built many years ago. This was our first trip back in 5 years and whilst we were happy with the Sunset Villa on the beachfront...we notice that the staff were not as good at room cleaning, reception and dining room as previous trips. The breakfast is less than what we were used to and when we were the only guests on the first day... I was told there was now no smoking in the open air restaurant and was relegated to the "naughty" corner outside at the bale benong with no chair to sit on. That was the only night we bought happy hour drinks at the hotel...so, they missed out on 3 people buying meals and drinks on site. The pool needs fixing with broken surround tiles due to age..it's just looking tired. For the increase prices post covid, we had hoped for a better holiday at this boutique hotel.

Life in Amed is the perfect resort to stay and relax in Amed. Quieter than other spots, you can truly relax and snorkel straight off the beach without the crowds. Gardens are beautiful, and service is the best I've had in Bali. The staff and owner are friendly and it shows they care. Highly recommended. .

Heaven at the beach! Truly the most incredible place. Peaceful energy, delightful rooms, gorgeous pool and garden area. Direct beach access to crystal waters and easy access to snorkelling. Traditional fishing boats all lined up on the beach and fresh daily catch at the restaurant every night! The thing that makes this place so incredibly special is the staff. Every single member of staff is delightful friendly helpful and so utterly lovely. The whole experience is a huge credit to Sarah the owner along with her staff and all the love and care they put into every detail 💕
