Double OneAmed Resort is situated in the north east of Bali facing out across the sea towards Lombok. The Amed area is often referred to as the "REAL" Bali. We are only a two hour drive from the hustle and bustle of Kuta and Denpasar but the difference is remarkable. Time is not measured in hours and weeks here but by the setting and rising of the sun and the appearance of the full moon. By the gentle sea breezes of the dry season and the monsoonal downpours of the wet season. Here life continues onwards as it always has done - with a calmness and tranquility that leaves the mind and body soothed and peaceful.

Firstly may I say even though low season "Double One" represents extremely good value for a beach front property low season or not.
The rooms up top or villas below are in good state, air conditioned with comfortable beds and pillows.
The Restaraunt serving breakfast and lunch has a very good choice of food with great tastes and at affordable prices.
The staff are to be congratulated on friendliness and attention to your needs.
Perhaps the only negatives would be attention to some gardening around pool and repairs to pool tiles and steps but may I say miniscule to the benefits and plus points this place has.
I did notice a review with comment about the steps but not an issue if reasonably agile. I am 67. No problems.
Double One 4 Sure! Just like Balivilla4u Nusa Dua. "Where nothing's a problem and everything's a pleasure"
See you again Double One!

We stayed here for three nights and had a reasonably good experience. A French woman was on site who seemed to be the owner/manager and was quite attentive when needed, but all of the staff was friendly and we had no problems.

PROS
- The room was big, and the bed was comfy enough.
- The A/C was great. Had to keep turning it down because it would get too cold. lol
- We stayed in the cheap rooms at the top of the hill, and even from there we had a lovely view of the ocean, with a porch and sitting area.
- No roosters!
- The included breakfast was ample.
- The wifi, though of course not perfect because this is Bali, was stronger than some of the other places we have stayed.
- The pool is just feet away from the ocean and is quite lovely.
- There are lots of dive outfits in the area, we just walked to the one almost next door and had a great experience.
- The location is a bit remote. The street is lined with other hotels and places to eat, so you aren't in the middle of nowhere, but just be aware this is not a bustling party scene. It was nice and quiet and relaxing.

CONS
- The rooms are rather dark at night, just not enough light fixtures I guess for the size of the room. Not a big deal but noticeable.
- The shower was pretty pathetic. It looked great, but the pressure is poor and was very difficult to regulate temperature between scalding and cold.
- Not a big deal for anyone reasonably fit, but the stairs from reception down past the rooms to the beach are very big and steep. If you have physical restrictions this probably isn't the place for you. (Though we did see an elderly couple that the staff was helpfully assisting up the stairs to their room.)
- Again, not a huge thing, but the staff are pretty aggressive at requesting you book extra services like taxis or activities through them. I assume they make a commission. I don't begrudge them that, and it was never a hard sell, they were always friendly about it, but it did come up in almost every conversation with staff. "What are you doing today? I can arrange that for you!"

Anyway, like I said, it was a reasonably good experience. Nothing too fancy, but nice enough for our purposes.

We booked ocean view on line
And were initially pleased. The location is great with great views. The bed is huge and the most comfortable we experienced. As we settled in though we noticed the trimmings that make a stay special were largely missing. The service was disappointing with no welcome, no soft background music. The food was average and although there were two fans on the wall of restaurant, these weren't turned on. At one stage we went to get lunch and no staff were in kitchen, we walked next door, literally a couple of steps across the pebbled beach and the decor and service there was what we had come to expect for mid range hotels. My tip would be to stay next door. The Double one looks like was once a fine place but someone at the top has lost interest and the team here are without direction and it shows. There are many hotels in Amed and I believe Double one will have to lift its game if it wants to survive

The room is big enough to put our stuff, and the shower is hot and strong. All rooms that I know are facong the sea, and have balconies with chairs so you can lay back and take in the blue ocean view. The hotel has access to the beach and pool, so you can get wet all day long. They also rent snorkling gear with normal price, 50k for one day which include googles, snorkles and fins. Really fun staying at this hotel.

The hotel was clean, in an excellent location and safe. Please be cautious, we had an unpleasant incident with an individual who claimed to work for this hotel, selling excursions on the beach. We signed up for a trip to the Japanese shipwreck, which was fine and he provided us with fins for snorkeling. When we tried to return these fins he insisted we keep them and said they were free as complimentary with our stay. Three days later we departed the resort with a taxi driver provided through the hotel, and left the fins in front of the hotel room. After we were well away from the resort the driver handed us his cell phone with the individual from the beach yelling and demanding payment, informing us that only the first day use of the fins was free and to send the cash with the driver. We resisted as we were assured it was free, he instantly began berating us with verbal abuse and foul language trying to intimidate us into paying.

This was the only rude employee we came across, however Everyone at the hotel will constantly try to sell you services like taxis, and this may become annoying as they are incessant and relentless.

This place has so much potential it leaves you feeling so dissapointed.
Let's start with the grounds. The decent to the beach front Villa nearly killed the young staff showing us the Villa. Pool is murky and had to be closed due to bacteria levels. Pool side chairs have you looking over weeds coming up through cracked concrete. Staff everywhere doing nothing to rectify these issues just sitting around in the shade.
The Villa bath tap fell to bits, reported they came and said "you don't want this do you" shower fell apart. Vanity unit falling apart. Toilet stops flushing. Now let's talk about staff. Everytime they see you they try to sell you something. They don't let up. It is far from relaxing. To top it off I caught them out going through my bags. The Two men who did this are known to be doing it and still work there. The girl on reception was lovely and so embarrassed about their dishonesty. There are many lovely places to stay in Amed don't go to this one

Too many stairs down to our room on a daily basis, which was hard work up & down.Bed was nice with a out dated rooms.Local guests made a lot of noise at midnight in the pool, was most annoying, young peolpe and then next day they were at pool early.
Breakfast was ok but not enough available to eat .Dinner was nice food as not many restaurants near by.
Location was 10 min drive to jembuk beach .

I don't appreciate the man that clean our room ,searching through our suitcase during our two day stay ,looking for money I gather. He unzip the bags clearly as we set them up to a certain way to see if anyone went in .You clearly did MR B. You should be ashamed MR B . First time this has ever happened to me in any country I've been.its well noted that thieving goes on in Bali !!! In rooms .

Wouldn't never stay here again ,nor recommend this place .

We spent 2 nights staying here. The hotel location was good and room was spacious as well as quiet, bed was comfortable as well. But i hope breakfast would be more choice and wifi sometimes was very slow. But staffs were helpful and attentive as well.

There is a Double one and a Double one two...confusing. Two different locations Double one is on the ocean side Double one two is across the road. One is a bit nicer and more popular we booked #2 (cheaper) upon arrival there was no Wifi as advertised so they moved us to the other hotel. There is frequently no wifi as advertised (it's not a 1st world country) so it was really awesome of them to move us to the nicer hotel give us breakfast and no Hassel.
