We stayed 6 nights. The bungalow is traditional, clean and spacious, set in a lush well maintained garden. The pool area is amongst the garden with shady trees. The staff at the restaurant which, overlooks the beach, are extremely friendly and helpful. Included is a daily complimentary buffet breakfast, and choice of eggs or pancake between 7am-10am. We ate lunch there most days as well, after we returned from diving. Unfortunately there is no ceiling fan and the room was extremely hot due to no airflow, so we had to keep the aircon on. Everywhere else on our trip we haven’t needed aircon. The shower water pressure is extremely low and it took a long time to wash conditioner out of my hair. I like having a quick shower, so was a little frustrating, but not the end of the world. However, we didn’t have any massages because we knew we wouldn’t be able to wash the massage oil off. We would of had a few otherwise. The checkin lady was lovely. I asked about taxis and she said she could call one for us if needed, which are Rp200,000 return. A couple of days later we went to reception and was greeted by a man, he told us it was Rp250,000 had to be paid in cash to him and can’t be room charged. If just sounded a little deceitful to me. I said I would prefer to pay the driver myself, but he insisted I had to give the cash to him. At the end of the trip the driver was waiting for the payment from us and was surprised we had given cash to the hotel instead. Some restaurants like Sails will send a driver to pick you up and drop you home again, which was convenient. There is a small supermarket almost next door. We found the location very convenient for diving each day and walking to other restaurants. Griya restaurant is only a short walk and is lovely for sunset drinks followed by dinner and Balinese dancing. The restaurant at Bukit Segara is close and stunning. You can snorkel on the reef, stunning coral on the left and lots of turtles on the right. The black sand gets a little hot to walk on in the middle of the day. Overall we loved our stay at Hidden Paradise and found all the gardening, housekeeping, F&B, front office staff (except one) extremely friendly and helpful.

Recently with a group of friends celebrating a 60th birthday we spent a few nights at this idyllic resort. Food fantastic, rooms well appointed (including a bath), outdoor pool very relaxing and snorkeling from beach directly in front clear (turtle spotted amongst fish). Massages could be organized, walking to street shopping and other restaurants easy. Staff & management very helpful & supportive.

From the minute we arrived, we felt valued- this family run hotel is sister to Coral view Villas so you have access to an alternative venue for beach, food and change of scenery should you want it ! it’s a short walk just down the road - The owners are around a lot and are attentive for any requirements having lived in the area most of their lives and of second generation - Australian -Balinese heritage means they are a mine of useful information and can explain so much about the culture that I hadn’t been able to find out elsewhere due to language barrier! The attention to detail was faultless ( dairy free milk for my coffee in the morning and fixing my only pair of bifocals to mention just a couple !!) The reefs on the beach direct from the bungalows were wonderful for snorkelling- the water was a bit churned up due to the seasonal heavy rains we had whilst there- But we did snorkelling and boat trip out to the Japanese wreck from the beach and rental for masks ,boats bikes ,diving gear - all available and very reasonably priced, just ask . Sea shoes might be useful - As mentioned before , there are drinking water points for filling up your reusable water bottles-So helpful health wise as well as saving on plastic ! We did a beautiful recommended circular hike which starts just by the cottages , up to the surrounding hills and back down - highly recommended to see some rural Balinese living -Also visited local restaurants and did some yoga sessions nearby- Amed is not a buzzing night life destination but a Balinese sleepy seaside village which is its charm - if you want ‘loud ‘and party, go south !! As for Paradise cottages , the rooms are large , airy , good AC and with outdoor bathrooms you feel more like you are actually living the beach life !

Hi. Day 5 of our stay and so far it cannot be faulted (please ignore the bad review below). Day starts with breakfast, there is not a huge variety, there is not really a buffet as such, but food is freshly prepared to order, fruit juices in fridge ready for drinking, fresh loaves of bread daily, my partner has said they serve a great cappuccino .Staff are attentive , helpful and remember what you had on previous visits . The restaurant looks out over the beach , unlike other establishments we have visited our hotel has a clear view of the sea with no boats parked in the way obstructing the view or walk to waters edge . The sea is lovely and clear and warm, there are 2 coral reefs nearby , both have some life left in them and there is a huge variety of fish to be seen , no turtles as yet though. The swimming pool is warm and clean but not huge and as mentioned by another reviewer there are trees nearby giving adults and children shade from the strong sun. Water fountains are in the restaurant and close to the pool and are free for hotel guests ,well done to the hotel for supplying drinking water free to the guests. We have ate at the hotel restaurant for evening meals, there is a good variety of food on offer with several dishes suitable for vegetarians. We have hired a 110cc motorbike for the last 3 days, its very cheap and the easiest way to get around. The evening's are very warm and so far majority of nights have been cloudless, perfect for stargazing.

We stayed at Hidden Paradise for eleven nights and were delighted with our stay there. The bungalows are well spaced out and set in beautiful tropical gardens. Our room was a good size with a lovely terrace and seating area. The restaurant looks directly out to the ocean. The beach in front has direct access to the sea and the snorkelling there was brilliant. Huge variety of fish and great coral and we were even lucky enough to see a turtle! There are some excellent warungs in the area, we ate out each night at a different place and enjoyed them all. The prices of food and drink is very good value and that includes Hidden Paradise. The hotel has free mineral water stations where you can top at any time, a great idea, stops lazy people leaving plastic bottles lying around! We had a couple of massages, in the gardens by the pool, they were very good, pure relaxationand very cheap. These were from the local ladies who patrol the beach. We took a couple of trips, one to Lepumyang temple which was memorable for the great photo's we had taken. Frankie from warung Indah { 2 minutes along the beach) was our driver and tour guide a really nice fella. He also took us to some snorkelling sites, the shipwreck and underwater temple. We also watched a beautiful sunset on Temple beach, with a couple of cold Bintangs. Near the end of our stay the hotel moved us to one of the larger family rooms, free of charge. These rooms are really nice with huge indoor / outdoor bathrooms. We could not fault this hotel. The staff are very friendly and hard working and it is undoubtedly great value for money. Many thank's go to all of them for making our holiday so enjoyable, we would love to return.

The staff wakes you up at 7.30 in the morning when they practise on their music instruments. When you complain: they deny it. Secondly: 3 credit card machines didnt work: they simply wanted cash!!! When we said no, suddenly a working creditcard machine appeared. The staff was very rude!!! The restaurant was also bad: we ordered nasi goreng chicken: the chicken wings were microwaved, you could smash a window with them. Please don’t book a room in this hotel. The staff have no clue what hospitality is about.

We went here as it was included in our tour around Bali. I think it was a great hotel. The rooms were a bit empty as they were quite big and the floor was a bit dusty or at least grainy as it felt a bit rough. The bathrooms were sort of outside but inside which was a bit weird but I quite liked it actually as it felt quite natural. The food was also really quite good for breakfast and dinner and the service was pretty good. The pool was a bit small for everyone but not many people were in the water at the same time so it was fine. It was a bit annoying that the beach was rocky unless you walked a long way to find another place that was sand. Someone got very sick (not from the hotel food or anything) in our group and the manager came over and called a doctor and was very worried. He was very nice. I think this hotel was very nice and it was in a nice place.

The atmosphere is truly relaxing, with wonderful hosts who went out of their way for us. We hadn't been back for 22 years and the place still had the charm of all those years ago and still run by the same family. I intent to go back there, and can highly recommend it. The food is excellent, breakfasts amazing, pool and beach within easy reach and the gardens are a delight. More more can I say!

The area around the Hidden Paradise Cottages is quite busy and hectic so finding our room to be quiet and tranquil was such a nice experience. Staff is friendly and attentive, grounds and room are clean and taken care of. Beach is right there for you to enjoy. We had a middle-property villa and had no issues with noise (roosters gonna rooster, can't do much about that no matter where your room is) aside from soime drunken guests one night (abviously not the hotel's fault). Our only concern is that the door frame is quite low; if you are a tall person you'll bang your head on it if you don't duck. The bathroom is outdoors but the toilet area is partitioned off for privacy. Our AC worked well. The restaurant was lovely and they have a water filter for guests to use. Would stay here again!
